At 38 Luka is comparale to McKennie's speed at 25. Adams is faster than Luka, but not more athletic. How bad is the US mids? Adams was involved in creating 2 chances in 381 minutes of Copa. He can't make progressive passes now, he has played so little he never should have been on team. In the Copa, Matt turner attempted more passes than each of his midfield or attacking teammates in the loss to Uruguay. He attempted more passes than Reyna and McKennie combined during the tournament. There is so much wrong with this team it is clear that an overhaul is needed. Adams and Reyna should be benched for now, Musah too. And a change in formation(s) tactics and coach and some attitudes (CP and Weah). Then we can see if there is anything actually there. And it doesnt stop there: our director Betty Crocker is at the Euros instead of the Copa. Any Americans at the Euros? What a joke, that the director isnt even at the Copa, and still lives overseas. Nice remote gig. |

Adams played 3 games for Bournemouth last season, yes hurt, but that's not playing. Musah and Pulisic play well for AC Milan, but has to be said they did not succeed in Premier League Weah same Juventus, not a success or desired elsewhere McKennie same italian, was a failure at Leeds Reyna plays where exactly??? 20 league games over last 2 years at Dortmund and Nottingham = 0 goals or add 4 extra nonleague games still = 0 goals these 6 are the core of Berhalter's world, the players are calling to support GB now because if GB goes likely their untouchable roles do as well Dest when healthy is a player but is a wingback |

This is the best breakdown I've seen of this most recent Men's team, bar none. Would you get rid of Berhalter, and if so, who would be feasible top three picks for replacement given likely limitations on salary? |

you fail to see the differences between adequate and good, Pulisic is an adequate professional left wing. He is not world class. Yet he is the best American player. The US' golden generation is only golden compared to US. Adams, McKennie, Weah, Pulisic, Musah and Reyna are meh. Led by GB they are even more meh Your post really proves the point. AC Milan and Juventus play tougher matches and competition than the USMNT usually does with its cupcakes in CONCACAF. the US players are not the stars at those clubs, just complementary pieces. the US players do better against weak national team competition, although lately they dont even do that Pulisic is a solid pro, but not a star except on US team against weaker competition. US cant even advance in Copa let alone Euros or world cup there is enough of statistical data on these guys to show what they really are, Pulisic is the only one of a significant caliber pro as a difference maker, Reyna had promise and maybe still does McKennie 198 professional matches 13 goals USA 56 matches 11 goals Pulisic 224 pro matches 45 goals USA 71 matches 30 goals Adams 194 pro matches 3 goals USA 42 matches 2 goals Musah 141 pro matches 3 goals USA 39 matches 0 goals Weah 137 pro matches 10 goals (0 with Juventus) USA 41 matches 6 goals Reyna 99 pro matches 13 goals USA 31 matches 8 goals |

All of this blathering about the US players being mid - they weren't facing powerhouses. They don't need to be amazing to do better than they showed.

There are only a few world class players in professional football Adequate doesn't have you playing at AC Milan or Juventus or Premier League Adequate doesn't have McKennie considered by most the best Midfielder in Serie A last season Stats are used to tell whatever story and narrative you choose. It's not track & field. Not just about numbers (only 1 international goal for Bernardo Silva a top player) |

He’s not even the best midfielder on his team (Rabiot). He had a lot better year than when at Leeds, but he is in a far lower category than Barella, Calhanoglu, Rabiot, or Zelinski. And he has weight issue |
