WHO? New Democratic Nominee Thread

Whitman, Shapiro, Pritzer, Booker, Sherod Brown, heck, maybe a Shapiro/Casey ticket and lock up the PA vote.
I voted for Harris in the 2020 primaries, and I'd happily vote for her again this year.

Newsom would be low on my list, but better than Biden.

I've never seen that complaint, PP. On the contrary, there's such a deep bench we have the opposite concern - a massive fight. This was the MAIN concern when thinking about a Biden second term but now it's coming into starker focus, and some people are thinking we'd better take that risk. If Obama persuades Biden to step down, are all the contenders going to have a damaging public fight over who gets to be nominee?

Where were all of these people in primary season? I mean, they all knew about Joe’s incapacity. All we got was Dean Phillips.

Of course, PP how is that even a question? Especially if Kamala gets shoved aside.

Changing the Democratic ticket is legal but we’ll have to hurry before the convention.

Which Democratic President & VP combo would have the best chance of winning the election?

There have already been several threads about this dating back to last year.

There aren't democratic candidates would would outpoll Biden versus Trump.
You can't just ditch the sitting vice president
Why have an open fight between progressives and traditional liberals at this juncture? that just helps Trump and turns off any independents that are left.

Both polarizing figures.

How is Whitmer polarizing?

If this had been an open primary, she would be my first choice.

yep, I love this from him. Voting for the democrats no matter what. And so are my friends and family.

Ok then, problem solved! He sent out an explanatory tweet.

Pay no attention to the fact that he was non stop horrible at the one event where he’s not reading off a teleprompter.

not really true. the first 15 or so minutes were rough, but as it went on, and in the three events since, he has been fine

I don’t think he is even capable or running the country right now, and doubt he is.

Do you want him answering the phone at 3am responding to an international crisis like an attack on the US or a nuclear issue internationally? If I was the military, I would not even bother calling him.

He does it now and is managing fine.

Biden just made it that much more difficult for him to win reelection. Last night was abysmal.

Trump was bad on delivery and substance, as he always is. But this is the first time the public saw how doddering Biden is. Previously it was small stumbles and mix-ups. This was a prolonged state of confusion.

We really another Democratic candidate.

Put pressure on the White House. It will reinvigorate the campaign and motivate people to turn out.

Because right now, plenty of dejected Democrats and Independents are going to stay home on Election Day.

and yet the snap polls are fine and particularly with the Latino community where undecided broke heavily for Biden.

Obama wants another term. By re-electing Biden.

Obama is sitting down with Biden right now and trying to persuade him to step down. Michelle never wanted Biden to run. Obama took his time to support his VP the first time around, because the Obamas knew he wasn't at the top of his game. They're friends, but friends don't let friends cling to power past their prime...

I guess you missed Obama's pro-Biden tweet from earlier today.

When was the last time there was a serious challenge to a white house incumbent?
