I don’t think OP is a teacher who is knowledgeable about the hours that a sped teacher works. |
Why do you say that? I am arguing that special ed teachers should get higher raises than others. Clearly I know they work very hard and serve an important purpose and there is a shortage of them. |

FCPS Central Office hasn’t done anything to deserve a raise. They have created a calendar that benefits no one academically but forces people to work longer into the Summer and start school earlier every August. There have been technology purchases and contracts that have been disastrous for teachers and students within the past year. The public sentiment towards the direction the schools are going is not trending positively. Yes, they should get a smaller raise than the teachers do.
I have been teaching for over 20 years. Rarely do I end a work day thinking that the profession is getting easier or that I didn’t just work my tail off. |
Wouldn't make a difference. The difference between the number of in-school professionals and Gatehouse staff is massive. |
this poster must only have a GED and sucks at his/her job if only getting 1% raise. time for you to find a new job unless if you want to continue being used up high and dry even though you must carry a jar of vaseline. it's great you can show up to the office M-F, but now you should do work too so you can earn more of a raise at your company. |
