Its fantastic. I was worried it might not be after having loved Brooklyn so much. But it's great. It will win awards.

Waiting for this one from the library and looking forward to it. I loved Brooklyn! It had a slow start but then picked up and was such a satisfting read. I'm interested to see what happens to the characters.

Yes, by contrast this one starts in the thick of things, not slow at all. I wondered if he had changed his writing style slightly due to all the films made of his work and that idea you should start as far into a scene as possible rather than have a whole build up. I'd be interested to know what you think PP!

Anonymous wrote:Just started Annie Bot by Sierra Greer. Can’t say what it’s “about” yet because I’m only about 15% through based on my Kindle app. But so far it’s a story about a somewhat emotionally abusive male owner of a female companion robot.

I borrowed it from the library (FCPL) with an about 2 month wait list for the e-book.

After this I’ll probably still not be off the wait list for the other stuff I’m waiting for so I’ll pick something that’s older and available without a wait list.

I liked it.

I’ve been working through the Murderbot books. Got it from Libby app through the library. The first book in the series was a three star for me, but I am so hooked after the second. Such a fun series. After this will move on to the next book, “System Collapse”.

I loved this series.

Oh, that's so interesting what you note about his style and filmmaking. Definitely possible. Sounds great! Unfortunately there's a long list at the library but I will try to answer back!

Family Lore by Elizabeth Acevedo. About 100 pages in and liking it but disturbed by the imagery an incident with a father and daughter and hoping that is the extent of it . . . .

Just finished The Guest by Emma Cline. I loved it until the end... a real page turner, don't want to give any spoilers, but I was disappointed.

I can wait. Maybe someone will start a thread on that book between now and then anyway.

Currently reading The Running Grave. I had almost given up on this series but glad I didn’t because I am really liking this one.
