I think Keough is doing a great acting job of playing a very unlikable person. The writer was also very involved in the adaption of her book into the Hulu series, so she had to have known how her character is portrayed and was fine with it. She died of lung cancer BTW which is probably why they show her smoking 24/7 |
Rebecca sees Warren as a kid who has had a tough life. She can’t imagine someone so kind to her would do something so awful. It’s strange they got life in prison with no parole but now Warren is out while Kelly is still in jail. |
I don't think that's it. She is identifying Warren too much with her brother and feels she has to save Warren to make it right for the way she treated her own brother on the day he died. If she felt bad for kids that had had a bad life, she's be more invested in the girls than she is. But she seems laser focused only on Warren. She also gives him her brother's suit. |
+1 The character is connected to EVERY aspect or part of the story. It’s so unrealistic. |
Its not strange. Warren showed remorse and built a relationship with Reena's parents. He talks to at risk kids about not getting into trouble. Kelly never showed remorse she was only involved in herself. |
Me too. She is a very good actress though because I have a visceral reaction of complete disdain and anger whenever she appears on screen. She is one of the most unlikable and annoying characters I have ever seen. |
+1 She is so annoying. I think Riley does a good job portraying her as someone who thinks she’s cool but really is just annoying. And immature. |
Yes, I think that's an interesting take on the true life writer. Easier to do now I guess, given she died. |
| I love Lily Gladstone, and the plot is interesting, but the actress who plays the journalist is really annoying, and it is unbelievable that a grown woman would hang out at parties with a bunch of teens, even in the hopes of getting information. |
Can you believe that's Elvis' granddaughter? |
Well that's exactly what happened. The original writer was very petite and could be mistaken for a teen though in her early 30s at the time. She neither seemed like a threat nor someone who didn't fit in. So that's what happened. |
