Rebecca sees Warren as a kid who has had a tough life. She can’t imagine someone so kind to her would do something so awful.

I don't think that's it. She is identifying Warren too much with her brother and feels she has to save Warren to make it right for the way she treated her own brother on the day he died. If she felt bad for kids that had had a bad life, she's be more invested in the girls than she is. But she seems laser focused only on Warren. She also gives him her brother's suit.[/quote]
