Why is DC/MD so into Range/Land Rovers?

How would you know? And who cares? Local Land Rover dealer will deliver a free loaner SUV to you and take your car away to be fixed. You don't ever have to actually waste time going to the dealer yourself. Any time your car is in the shop (an exaggerated claim in itself ), you get to put mileage on their loaner SUV.

Do you actually own one? I have a 2019 Sport and none of them (Tysons, Alexandria, Bethesda) do loaners post-COVID, let alone concierge dropoff service to your door.

Your truck is nearly 6 years old, the full warranty expired years ago. Why in the world would they give you a free loaner or drop off service? Those perks are for well off who buy or lease a new one every 12-24 months. I assure you the customer who buys a new $130,000 Range Rover every 12-24 months doesn’t get told there are no loaners.

And yes, I am a Land Rover customer. I drive a 2023 Defender 110.

Bullshit wasp trope. You want to believe it’s true because you know your boring car makes you look poor. In other words, it’s a cope; defense mechanism.

This. It is a status car and this is a status oriented area.

I don’t know about you, but I keep lots of important stuff in my car - strollers, stuff for the dog, my work items, kids toys, clothes, umbrellas, electronics adapters, all manner of stuff I need almost every day.

The idea of having to move all of it to a service loaner and then back again every time my vehicle went to the shop for more than a couple hours not appealing at all. It’s a major inconvenience.

If you can just hop out of one car and right into another and go on as if nothing happened, I truly don’t understand you. We live very, very different lives.

Yeah, you sound like a pack rat. We keep our cars spotless. Not only do we prefer the cleanliness, we also don’t want to get broken into in the city.

Best comment.

Nope! They come with moncler jackets. How dare you to think Range Rover drives wear Canadá Goose 🙄
Same goes to the Mercedes Wagon, the insane RR SUV and Bentleys. Tacky tacky

Tackiness depends on the spec and who is driving it.

You’ve probably never had a quality car in your life, poor dear.

Yes. I’ve had four range rovers and they have served me well. No major service issues. Comfortable ride. Luxury interior. Gas guzzler is the biggest negative, not gonna lie about that! Prior to these cars I drove Mercedes. One Wagon. One Suv and a sedan. All great cars as well.

And I bought them all at Tyson’s and they always provided loaners. I haven’t been there since Covid so I can’t speak to what they offer now.

Snobbery from a Defender owner? Couldn’t afford a full size?

No kidding. The Defender is made for off roading but the only people driving it are white suburban moms and dads dropping their kids at private schools then heading to the gym - decked out in Canada Goose and Louis Vuitton of course. So hilarious.

I drive a Defender because I care for the environment.

It’s not snobbery, PP tried to pull rank and asked if I drove a Land Rover, so I was answering her. I drive a new one at that, while she drives a used out of warranty Land Rover and is surprised she doesn’t get the red carpet treatment at her dealership.

NP here. OMG! You live a homeless or what. Work items? Clothes? Adapters?
Do you live in your car?

I’ve got none of these in my car. I keep nothing in my car.
Do you keep all of those things in your car and use them while you’re driving? Or do you use your car for anything other than driving to point B?

Truth Social is a better investment than an out of warranty Land Rover.

Right? I could see a car seat if you have young kids, but that’s hardly a heavy lift to simply move into a loaner. Everything else sounds like pointless clutter. I prefer my cars spotless and clutter free.

I'm sure the dealer you leased your car from will put you in an Evoque or Discovery Sport for half a day while they change the oil but they're still not flatbedding it from your house. Just getting a loaner car is not "red carpet treatment"
