Mays coulds and shoulds are evidently enough for you to parrot right wing propaganda so… |
Please stop with this mythical Dem talking point. The tax code doesn’t favor the wealthy. Just the opposite. The top 50% of earners in America pay 97% of federal income taxes. https://taxfoundation.org/data/all/federal/latest-federal-income-tax-data-2024/ The top 1% of earners pay 45% of federal income taxes. “Their study showed that the top 10 percent of U.S. taxpayers paid a larger share of the tax burden than their counterparts in other countries and our poorest taxpayers had the lowest income tax burden compared to poor taxpayers in other countries due to refundable tax credits such as the Earned Income Tax Credit and the Child Tax Credit.” |
Seriously, DCUM is overwhelmed with posts parroting left wing propaganda. Take the blinders off please. |
A lot more than you. |
A living wage flipping burgers and making fries. Really? Get real. With that logic you are overpaid for whatever you do. |
I saw an interview with a McD's franchise owner, moaning about the increase. Then he casually mentioned that the has eighteen franchises - do you know how much liquidity it takes to own eighteen fricking franchises? Cry me a river.
And again - if your business model is based on paying workers less than a living wage, you're either bad at business or are morally bankrupt. |
Yes, for flipping burgers. Check your privilege. |
Teachers are quitting because they can make more money flipping hamburgers than trying to educate your stupid brats with the added plus of not having to deal with entitled parents. |
Not in Fairfax County. They aren't making more money flipping burgers than teaching... not even close. Sorry about your BS. |
+1 not in MCPS either. They must be in a red state where teacher is pay. Maybe FL? |
No Republicans need a lesson on how to spend money. They think life will be less expensive after a Trump win. That is by far the dumbest thing I have been hearing. Oh please your peeps give to the likes of Trump, Lindell, Rudy, Ginni, MTG, Bobo, and Kari Lake over and over again. And your peeps invested in Truth Social...... And your peeps raise the NATIONAL DEBT every single time we have a Repuke president and Dems have to clean up the mess. |
All teachers are grossly underpaid. Starting salary for a teacher of any grade should be $100,000. |
WTH doesn't anyone look at the corporations themselves? How much are the CEOs making (can't they lower their salaries)? How many Walmart employees are on public assistance (because they refuse to hire people full time)? Why do companies build planned obsolescence into their profit strategy (i.e. can't get a washing machine part after 6 years)?
The problem is we need to start taxing corporations in addition to focusing on wages. Except many low wage folks vote for Republicans who love corporate welfare and love to blame illegal immigration on individuals instead of the corporations that hire them. |
