“Intervention studies have shown that moderate egg consumption doesn’t appreciably raise cholesterol levels,” Dr. Hu said. “Low to moderate consumption of three or four eggs a week doesn’t appear to have a major effect on blood cholesterol unless the person has high cholesterol or Type 2 diabetes.” https://www.nytimes.com/2019/04/22/well/eat/should-you-be-eating-eggs.html#:~:text=%E2%80%9CLow%20to%20moderate%20consumption%20of,cholesterol%20or%20Type%202%20diabetes.%E2%80%9D The researchers also found that substituting eggs with nuts was linked with a reduced risk of Type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and early death. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/11/15/well/eat/plant-based-diet-nuts-beans-grains.html |
It's only fine if he posts about it on Instagram. |
Is he getting expensive? I don't see any other problem. Nice to not have to think what to eat every morning. |
Your husband eats breakfast food…for breakfast?! EVERY MORNING?! |
That’s weird. How? Eggs have zero sugar in it |
He’s naturally thin. And runs a lot? I hate running. |
The give the man a break if he wants to eat 4 eggs. Why did you need to post this in the first place and why do you feel the need to be so controlling as to dictate his breakfast choices? |
4 eggs is overkill but otherwise that’s my perfect breakfast. |
Three to four A WEEK not per day…. |
The eggs are bad for you thing from the 80s and 90s was misinformation fyi |
This is old outdated thinking. |
Just up your life insurance and stop policing what he eats. |
Actually it isn’t a myth. While most heathy people without any heart issue or high risk for heart issues can eat eggs daily, I believe the recommended amount is to keep it around 7 eggs/ week, assuming you are also eating other meats and dairy. 4 eggs every day is a lot. I wouldn’t poo poo that as totally fine, especially for a middle aged man. OP, just encourage him to get yearly physicals and blood work, like everyone should be doing over 40. If cholesterol starts rising, or BP, or anything concerning with heart comes up, time to dial back the eggs. |
