Husband eats 4 eggs with toast literally every morning

4 scrambled eggs (the free range organic kind, if it matters) in a buttered stainless steal pan, 2 pieces of dry wheat or sourdough toast from a local bakery, and a cup of coffee with a little half and half. Sometimes a half a banana or a nectarine. Is this fine? It's been his breakfast routine for years, 5 to 7 mornings a week. Only time he doesn't eat this is when we're traveling, go out to eat on a weekend, or he lacks the time.

Is he in good health? If yes, then this is fine.

Mine does this but takes the yolks out.

His cholesterol is going to be through the roof if it's not already.

If his weight and bloodwork is normal, and hopefully a doctor agrees, then, sure, it’s fine. I’m sure it’s better than the muffin I had this morning.

Gross.

If his cholesterol and LDL numbers are in range, it's fine.

Hmm, if only there was a test for this …..

Exactly. Right down to the muffin.

Why are you concerned OP? If his bloodwork is good, don't worry about it. If it isn't then he could take out a couple of yolks.

I eat 3 soft boiled eggs every morning with tons of salt and pepper and a cup of strong coffee. I'm 5'4" 118lbs, female, low cholesterol, low HR, and low BP.

It seriously never occurred to me that anyone would analyze my diet negatively. If my husband did this, i might even be mildly offended. Maybe back off and let your adult husband eat his breakfast. If his health is a concern talk to him about his health, not his breakfast.

I eat scrambled eggs every morning as long as I have time. I like to start off with protein.

Dietary cholesterol is an insignificant contributor to serum cholesterol, which comes from the person’s own liver. Which is why “cutting cholesterol” usually does very little and statins work wonders.

Is this fine? Only if he makes enough for all of us.

It actually sounds quite healthy as long as it's not too many calories for his particular metabolism. If he is a healthy weight with good bloodwork, I would encourage him to keep eating this way. Maybe add some veggies to his scramble to get a little fiber?

This is actually a better breakfast that something like oatmeal or cereal.

The US food industry has brainwashed people from knowing what is up from down.

He needs to do a lipid panel every year to check cholesterol and triglycerides.
