Potomac ECNL Boys ID Sessions - anyone hearing anything?

We have been with Potomac for years and, unfortunately, they bring in outsiders rather than promote within the club. Overall, the RL teams are doing better than then NL teams so it’s confusing as to why they don’t bump certain players up.

Were they two of the biggest RL's by chance?

One was, one wasn’t.
Their NL team has lots of short kids, so whatever narrative you’re going for isn’t true.

The 2009 NL team didn't promote anyone up from their RL team, so I'm curious as to how many they added from the outside.

Oof, that’s a morale killer. Especially since the 09 RL team has the best record among all their NL/RL teams, and the NL has one of the worst. Must have had a bunch of outside offers.

Over the years my DS team has brought up players into the NL team. A few have done well, but most have not. There's still a gap and there are better players from outside. And if you think other clubs are promoting from within, most are not.

And Potomac doesn't care about size. If you want to know where your kid stands, talk to the coach. At 2009 and 2010 age group, your kid can still get promoted to the top team.

The pp asked a question. It's either yes or no.
Not a narrative
Why defensive?

How "over the years" if this is Potomac first year in ecnl for boys?

My thought exactly.

From what I understand, most of the 2009 ENCL boys were brought over en mass from PPA.

True, at least half the team came from PPA.

PPA 2009's seemed to be a well coached high performing team. I wonder other than FOMO, what were the reasons

Two main reasons…first, their coach left, and no one really likes the coach that took over.
Plus, the lure of ECNL, since PPA tops out at EDP1.
And I don’t know about high performing. They were one of the best teams in the country a few years back, and then they lost their best players to DC United. They were mid-table in EDP1 before they left for Potomac.
That also explains why the Potomac 09 ECNL team is having such a poor season. It’s essentially a decent EDP team with a few extra players playing against established ECNL teams.

I thought PPA 09's won the State Cup the year after their top 3 went to DCU?

They did, two years in a row. Mediocre in league play, great in cup play.
