I once had an Uber try to kick me out on 495. He was taking us to FedEx on outer loop and while in transit a huge accident happened and 495 was shut down and we were just sitting there. He had apparently pre-booked to pick someone up at Dulles and now with waiting in traffic to finish our trip he wouldn’t be able to make it so he started arguing with me that we had to get out. I had my 2 elementary age kids with me and of course my phone battery was dying (which he wouldn’t let me charge) but we refused to get out. Where were we going to go? It was absolutely awful. My kids were crying. I was yelling. We wouldn’t get out.

Uber drivers can be completely crazy.

NP, well, if they were going to FedEx Field from say, Alexandria or National Harbor or whatever, the beltway would be shut down/backed up in that direction on the outer loop. But Dulles is the other direction completely on the other side of the area isn’t it? So he could get off at the next exit, turn around and head that way. Which you would easily understand if you actually lived here which I suspect you don’t.

Omg! I know the husbands family. (Well, knew. Same high school. Haven’t seen anyone from that family since but I remember him). I’ve been following it trying to find out what happened to that poor woman ever since the husbands sister posted about it on Facebook. What a tragedy. I do also think it’s weird that the husband or the friend hasn’t said exactly what happened!! Presumably they were with her?? Anyways I do feel awful for them.
