UC Davis Decisions Are Out

Stupid for you to care about this. Not everyone wants to stay regional.

It honestly seems pretty loserish for a kid to go from say Bethesda to Davis to major in polisci or whatever. If you told me they were really into veterinary science, or agronomy, or really wanted to relocate to California- sure.

+1. They’re already hard enough to get into for Californians.

90 percent for UCLA and Berkeley!!!!!!!!!! LIke Texas and N. CArolina, UC schools save spots for Californians. Virginia needs to do the same

Don't do this. Californians never say this

It’s very regional. Some areas say it like Redondo/Torrance/South Bay and coastal OC like Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa and surrounding areas.

As for other UCs, my kid is at UCSD and says there are quite a few kids from the DC area.

Davis is ranked #28. UMD is ranked out of the top 50 at #57. Hardly looserish to attend at top 30 University. Not to mention better weather and a chance to see what a different part of the Country is like. I personally encouraged my DCs to go to school outside of the DMV so they experience something different.

Goin Back to Cali—

Cali, Cali

Huh—

I don’t think so.

Seriously though, I think above us right. Vast majority of Californian— myself included— never say Cali. But clearly there are areas that allow it.

LL Cool J and Rick Rubin are New Yorkers, not Californians. Just sayin’ …

You can also transfer more easily between them. Say you started at UCSB and found it too remote, you could transfer to UCLA without much difficulty.

And I'm not making this stuff up. I live in LA and have kids who will be applying in the Fall, and many friends and acquaintances who attended a variety of the UC colleges.

This is complete bologna. Yes, you can go to graduate school from one UC to the next but it’s not easy. And transferring is difficult into the top UCs (of course exceptions where grades are stellar)

So is it bologna or not? You say so and then 100% contradict yourself. Maybe put the bottle away til next w'end.

DP. There’s no transfer between graduate programs at UCs I don’t believe.

The UCs admit out of state applicants so wrap your head around it.
