We are in a climate crisis, people! Gas appliances are causing it.

You really need to get all gas appliances out of your house as soon as possible!!

This is true. Especially gas stoves:

They are unethical, as well as very dangerous.

Stop it. Burning natural gas directly in an appliance is more efficient than burning it in a power plant to generate electricity and then transporting it across the countryside to a transformer to a local distribution line to power a dryer (with line and efficiency losses all along the way). Indoor air quality is not an issue for a properly vented appliance (dryer or stove). If you want to “save the planet,” hang your laundry in an outside line. Otherwise, please educate yourself with something other than propaganda.

Ok, MAGA.

This is a troll who keeps posting repeatedly.

For fun, I suppose. They should probably work more hours.

You are the troll, PP.

How does it work? Does your washer/dryer unit run hotter than it would with electric?

You won’t believe it, but automobiles used to run on gasoline!

You are not as amusing as you think you are.

Every body should. I cannot believe all these people here who hate the environment and defend polluting gas appliances.

Terrible !

Oh please. You can afford it easily; they have sales all the time.

You can afford it, you just don’t want to do the right thing for the planet.

All those things would require additional wiring for the 220. Depending on the original wiring, you might not even have enough service to add all the amps required.

Ooops, sorry, I meant electric dryers need the high voltage. Gas dryers need a gas pipe connection. Most people don't have both in their laundry area.

I do all in the same roon. A gas water heater and furnace, electric washer and dryer.

Almost all oil wells produce some amount of gas, and what is not collected is going to be burned off or disperse into the atmosphere. If you want to get rid of gas, you need to get rid of oil as well.

Anyone who thinks there is no global warming is an idiot. Massive loss of glaciers all over the globe. (In some remote high altitude regions, this is causing water shortages for people who rely on meltwater).

Midwest is basically not having winter this year. El Nino is part of it, but so is global warming. There have been 3 periods lasting 1-2 weeks that resembled normal winters. Otherwise no snow, no subzero temps in areas that normally have plenty of those. But if the AMOC collapses (and is showing signs of weakening) it will be extremely cold in the temperate zones and blistering heat in the tropics. Although people in northern areas sometimes think global warming would be terrific, it doesn't really work that way.

Why do you have to be so rude??! 🧐🤨

What instructions are you giving China and India about their emissions.

You should have not had kids, you are a terrible person for doing so. They pollute the land in so many ways. You should be like me and be childless.

See how ransom and capricious environmental fascism is? We can make up rules in any way we want and call it "environmentalism"

It’s typically just a lot less expensive to run, that’s why people install them. But as far as I know, it’s just the dryer, not the washer that runs on gas.

Correct. My dryer is gas. Gas dryers are more energy efficient and less expensive to operate than electric dryers.

Gas dryers are worse for the climate at this point.

Just saw Sec. Transportation Buttigieg at Meridian International conference. He said worst thing for climate is every form of travel. Gas appliances are far down on the list and are the latest to get panties in a twist.

New Poster. Yes I Have-also have one. I've also heard of snow, rain and freezing temps, which limits drying days. And most of us can't dry our clothes by the woodstove like Ma Ingalls.

I will raise a toast to you as I sit in my gas heated hot tub next to my gas fired fire pit and gas heated pool.

You're wasting your breath. Most people think electricity is self-generated. They don't understand that their electricity is often created with natural gas. As far as they are concerned, minions walk around energy utilities turning wrenches until electricity streams into their home like black magic.
