Good luck in your efforts. I hope its more thought through once you get the signatures required. |
I’m kind of a weird about privacy. Is it possible to sign this recall petition without my name being visible? I feel like Allen won’t get recalled because there are so many self-flagellating crime apologists in Ward 6, but would love to sign it without my name being posted everywhere. |
Ward 4 seat is up this election cycle and an electable challenger is running, no need to worry about that seat at the moment. |
Google Jack Evans, another low information poster. And enough with all the emotion and "feels" focus, this is not Tumblr. |
No, because it needs to be verified that you are a Ward 6 resident. You can't anonymously sign petitions to recall someone who was duly elected. |
Who is that that's electable? I don't think it's going so great for Lisa. |
nybody can get copies of the petitions from BOE in the signature review period. They're no proactively posted on the BOE website but they'll certainly be widely circulated and thoroughly reviewed by recall opponents in the challenge period. |
A successful recall of Allen shows the rest of the Council what happens to elected officials who put the well-being of criminals above law-abiding citizens. It shows that we are paying attention, are pissed off, and will hold them ALL accountable if they don't shape up. It will signal a correction of the overcorrection. |
I am weird about privacy too. I would love to sign anonymously but since that’s not possible, I am just going to bite the bullet. The safety of my kids matters more. |
Agree |
The Sticky Fingers owner above does not exactly strike me a “GOP operative” lol. But nice gas-lighting attempt, PP. |
It's funny because this is the same thing Janeese says. Same old excuses. Either crime isn't that bad or if it is, then it's someone else's fault (the mayor! the police! the attorney general! mean old Republicans!) because the city council doesnt really have any power. Uh, huh, right. Buh bye. |
You have every right to feel that way. It doesn't change the fact that they were both elected overwhelmingly and many of us do agree with them. |

Do we not remember how much of a shitshow this city was under Trump? Leaving aside the J6 riots, he was non-stop inflaming racial tensions, leading to chaos and borderline riots after George Floyd. Remember how Biden threatened to veto the Charles Allen's stupid crime bill when Allen was too tone deaf to get a sensible crime bill passed? Biden is a centrist. We need an adult in office. No one wants Trump. We are saying Trump will federalize if he wins. Allen and the situation in DC are hurting Biden’s election chances (yes, really) because he looks weak and like he can’t get the city to be safe. So, if we do nothing, Biden might not get elected. Either way = permanent federalization If you want certainty, the only move is to pull a Clinton and institute a Control Board now. That way Dems control the appointments and rules. The local government is back in 4 budget cycles. That’s the right move. |
