Awful scratching noise under the sink freaking me out

OP back again. I guess I’m glad I’m not the only one freaking out about rodent intruders.

Since my pest company said it would take them a week to come back out, I turned to my local listserve for recommendations. From those, I first tried a smalll company called First Gen Pest Solutions. The owner had another job nearby and was able to get my house an hour after I called.

He did a thorough inspection and like the other guy didn’t see where they were coming in. He added more traps as well as poison, which I can see has been chewed on. While he said it’s possibly rats, he noted that mice can sound quite loud. It’s sort of frustrating to have to pay for a second company to come out, though.

Nothing has been caught in the traps, but there’s definitely less scratching. I’m spending more time upstairs after dark since thankfully no mouse has ventured up there, so far at least.

Thanks for the update OP. The noise is driving me crazy and I am scared that whatever it is is chewing on wires and such. The noise comes and goes. I called and someone is coming only tomorrow.
