Yep, love it or hate it, it's a major shift away from funding and being involved in regional conflicts all over the globe. Possibly unique in our political system where both old school Republicans and moderate Democrats are pro-war.

The opposite of this is not peace, it is letting authoritarians take control of the world assets. That is not a win for the US, or the companies that drive out capitalist society. It isn't a matter of being "pro-war" it is matter of preventing catastrophic war in light of nuclear solutions to angered nations. No one in the US WANTS war. It would be a lot better if bad actors like Putin were put out of power. Short of that, we can either let one country invade another, or we can do what we can to maintain some sort of order. Why is Russia at war in Ukraine? Who knows, but Ukraine is a soverign country that has been invaded. We either let Russia invade and take them over, or we support Ukraine. Why should Russia be allowed to just take another country?

Read a history book. We like being the Western superpower. NATO is our alliance. We created it. We don’t want Germany to be a military power. We wanted bases in Europe. It worked as a deterrent. The purpose is to NOT have wars in Europe.

With power comes responsibility. As the number one superpower the United States has an obligation to help countries invaded by war mongers.

It is the world's job, which is why the US are in DEFENSIVE alliances like NATO. If not the US, then who? And what are the ramifications if the US sits it out? Either Russia just steamrolls through Europe or the US joins Russia, which is what Trump wants, and subjugate humans as chattel for the wealthy and corrupt.

Let's put it this way. If the US doesn't do it, why do you assume your life would be the same "after" as compared to now?

There wasn't war because trump was giving it away in alliance with the bad guys.

He pulled out of the TPP, giving China the South China Sea without a shot fired, all while paying more in taxes to China than to the US.
He pulled out of the JCPOA, allowing Iran to return to rogue-state status.
He literally bowed to the North Korean dictator.
He allowed Russia to take Donbas without a shot fired.

And the Abraham Accords were useless except to Kushnes who made off with 2 billion dollars and to the Saudi's who were given US nuclear secrets.

I guess you want the US to side with the dictators and become and authoritarian country as well. I guess if you are a straight white Christian male, then you can just sidle in with the other dictator adherent. The rest of us would like to continue the American experiment, as imperfect as it is.

The problem is that he's a weasel who also said the impeachment trial is "moot".

Now we have a 14th amendment ballot situation, and SCOTUS is likely to rule that the Senate is the only body with jurisdiction to convict him of insurrection. So I guess it wasn't moot.
