Yeah, but her TikTok’s are pretty entertaining! Someone local must know her. Not looking for who she is but super interested in what her regular day job is. She mentioned on one of the TikTok, something about finance or IT I don’t remember exactly.

Is she single?

Without a doubt.

I'd be surprised since this gives Lady of the Lake vibes.

I love that this area attracts the nutso type A people who would do something like this. Just wild. I can’t imagine having this kind of free time either!

The article said "Kala doesn't have formal training as an engineer, she told NBC in an interview — she's largely worked in IT and studied engineering handbooks and a FEMA manual on building shelters and safe rooms for the project.

Studied engineering handbooks and a FEMA manual?? 🤣

Does she have a mortgage? I can’t imagine her mortgage bank not having a say in this.

And yes in loudoun I needed a permit to cut into my basement foundation. We cut in for extra footers and to reroute plumbing. It has its own separate inspection

Except for cutting through the basement wall, it's not obvious she would need a permit.

This is what gets to me. The amount of planning that went into doing this and the execution of it is a TON of work. And she obviously wants the attention. At no point did she stop and think "well I better make sure I'm doing this the right way"?

Doing is more fun than planning. Making mess is fun.

^^Yall this is the lady right here^^^

I mean building a tiktok following generates income and I assume that was her primary goal, to fund doing something that interested her. And for a long time no one knew where she was located so she was pretty anonymous. She had another complicated project before this one. I assume she will just keep trucking on on this project or a new one.

Yes it is. She also did her own electrical, supports, ventilation, etc. Anyone with half a brain would know a permit is required.

It boggles my mind!

She’s a project manager not an engineer of any kind. And this is incredibly stupid and dangerous- not just for her but for her neighbors as well. I am so glad they made her stop.

It took us a year to get around to replacing a broken porch rail.

I mean, we had to get a permit to put up a basic fence. How could you think you could build a whole-a*s tunnel without a permit??
