Even if you know what you're doing, you're pretty stupid to do it publicly and not get permits. |
| Wow, her voice is incredibly annoying. Surprised by how big a following she has. |
We hit water just digging for footers in our basement. |
What permits? Seriously- explain what permit you need to dig a hole? Cite, or no permit is required. |
So you are saying you can dig under your foundation in NOVA and build a basement and don't need a permit at all? You're insane. |
You need a permit to cut into the foundation of a house (which includes side walls), which was the first thing she did. |
a quick google search and here you go https://www.loudoun.gov/1172/Finished-Basements |
| You also need permits for any new electrical, which she also did. |
| I bet her four story addition was also unpermitted |
The Washingtonian did a long article about that a few years ago. The guy was nuts (the one that hired the young man). |
This! She sounds like she's talking extra-slow for the preschool kids. |
I don't think English is her first language. She said she got an order to stop work but "permits shouldn't be too hard to get." So why didn't you get them before you started work???? |
She pours a lot of concrete, but has never used an agitator. I think she grasps the basics very well, but is missing some important steps |
She obviously has some quirks... |

This has been discussed at length on structural engineering sub-reddits. Didn’t realize she was local.
There’s a high likelihood of an accident, unfortunately. |
