You might be thinking of Art Fleming.

Ah yes, the host synonymous with Jeopardy: Art Fleming.

Only hosted it for like 15 years.

Ending in the 70’s, and then Alex Trebek hosted it for 36 years

I find Mayim Bialik arrogant and annoying, but I think Amber Heard - who is "conventionally hot" - is an outright incarnated demon of some kind who is beyond redemption.

So no, people do not have a problem with plain women (Mayim Bialik isn't ugly...maybe plain, but not ugly). And noticing character flaws in women isn't always internalized misogyny.

And yes, before someone asks, I also think Johnny Depp is evil to the point of being demonic.

Say the quiet part out loud. She's not conventionally attractive, and you think she shouldn't have the audacity to be on tv

This. You probably don't like Lena Dunham SJP or Amy Schumer either.

NP. If you were trying to make a point here, you should have picked unattractive celebrities who are not also aggressively annoying. Not SJP, she’s fine. But Lena Dunham and Amy Schumer? Come on.

I dislike all four.

I always felt her game rhythm was off—often, there was a noticeable pause between the time the contestant answered and she replied if it was correct/incorrect. Several times in a game. It wasn’t something I ever heard when Alex and then Ken was hosting.

I don’t care about whether she’s smug or not, or what she looks like, but a lot of the time, I have it on in the background, and that pause drove me crazy, to the point I didn’t watch when she was hosting.

Note to producers of Jeopardy: Just use AI to bring back Alex Trebek.

do not care for mayim. the thing about her timing being off is very true. she is just not a natural for this job.

ken needs to go to speech therapy. he would not be chosen if this was an open audition. the only reason he was chosen is because he is a champion. he is good at the job though, minus the lisp.

I guess I am in the minority, I liked her. I was looking forward to her return.

I doubt it. Support for Israel is fine. "People" were not outraged. Just a small minority.

Why? I liked her even more for standing up and speaking up against the atrocities that happened to the concert goers in Israel on 10/7.

You can be upset at the events of 10/7 AND recognize that a massacre is occurring. Think beyond the binary. These thoughts are not mutually exclusive.

No they are not. But a massacre -- I don't think so. Maybe change the government in gaza and things would improve.

The Alex Trebek worship is…creepy.

Mayim Bialak is arrogant and annoying. Her looks are irrelevant. Her inability to find a decent rhythm without bizarre long pauses is so offputting that I can't even watch when she's hosting. I really liked her on Big Bang, but can't stand her on Jeopardy. I'm glad she's gone.

Internalized misogyny?

That MUST be it! Couldn’t possibly be that she’s super annoying.

Right? Any time a woman is fired, it’s always because of the patriarchy.

Not because she was an anti-vaxxer, annoying person, who was a quarter as palatable as Ken.

Most people didn’t like her as the host.

I never noticed that.
