My experience with compounded semaglutide-a cautionary tale

How would you know? Did you have a prescription for Wegovy, go to a regular pharmacy and pick up a box that is clearly marked Wegovy? If not, then it is probably compounded.

I get it at my doctor's office, so definitely compounded. Thank you for your reply.

anyone who is on the Ozempic FB group knows this CAN happen (though extremely rarely) on even the brand name. Some people simply do not tolerate these drugs. This goes for nearly all medications.

it very well could be a compounding error, but this is a common severe side effect for the brand names that some people have. what is crazy to me is some of the prior this happens to still keep taking the drug hoping it goes away.

I was on generic Ozempic They gave it to me at a weight loss center in PHX. I had my third shot on friday and by Sunday I was blotted and had a pain above my belly button. The pain was getting worse and moving to the right side. (A rare Side effect) By Monday at noon I had to have my Appendix removed. I called the place that gave me the shot and she stated she had never heard of that. A week later I was back in the hospital with my Blood pressure 72/48. Its been 4 days and I am now feeling better. I will never touch anything like that again. Not worth it

i'm on compounded Zepbound. My insurance won't cover any weight loss meds even if obese with high blood pressure and cholesterol. Dieting just did not work. I'd lose a little and gain it back.

I can't pay $1400 a month so what choice do we have.

The first person to tell me to just diet and exercise is gonna get it. It's not that easy when you are insulin resistant from PCOS and in menopause.

These drugs don't do anything for you other than reduce food noise. You still have to diet and exercise. You just don't think about food that much. It's still not easy even with the meds.

I am on compounded Tirzepatide from Hallandale but about to get it shortly from Ousia in Florida. I have not sprung any growths and doing pretty well so far.
Some people either need to try a lower dose OR for some it's as simple as semaglutide does not work for them. It's not necessarily a compounding issue. You just might do better with compounded Tirzepatide instead.

I pay $245 a month for my Tirz (same price for 2.5mg and 5mg).

My doctor specifically told me not to take the compounded medication because it hasn't been around long enough to be tested. That being said, my insurance covers part of wegovy so I am able to afford it.

The first week I was on the brand name, I spent the entire week in the bathroom. Nothing stayed down - however - now that I"ve been on a few months I feel great.

See if your doctor will write you a prescription for compounded Tirzepatide to a local compounding pharmacy or one outside of the area like Empower pharmacy or Olympia pharmacy. The cost is $400 a month or less (vs 1400). Empower and Olympia are 503A but they also 503B outsourcers.

This happened to me but I’ve been taking the medication for 6 months with no vomiting. This was a new reaction from a single dose. I left it out of the fridge and ate some bruschetta with raw garlic and basil and was projectile vomiting thinking I was dying , no idea what caused it

Yeah, all the compounding pharmacies are complete scams, ripping people off. You might as well buy counterfeit meds from China. OP is a dumbass.
