| Cassie - I thought it wasn’t about the money? And now you’ve settled? Wtf? |
People.com |
He likely threatened with revealing info about her if she didn’t settle. It’s a tangled web. |
NBC also has story on the settlement |
|
At first I believed her side of things, but after reading on TMZ yesterday that she + Puffy “amicably” settled things, I am thinking it was a lie.
Because if someone did all that horrible stuff to me in the course of a year - then I would want that person held accountable for their actions & to ensure that others do not suffer the same fate. But he probably threw $$ at her to shut her up and now things are hunky dory again. What a difference 48hrs. and a ton of cash make. 🤑🤑🤑 |
Which would be like one of us mere mortals dropping off a dime….. |
I think that she was smart and she got what she wanted. She tried to settle with him privately and he clearly didn’t believe she’d go public with it. Why go through the hell of a trial in the court and press? There are going to be more people coming for him. Did you notice in that short amount of time how many backed her up? And Janet Jackson and Naomi Campbell (royalty) took down their posts from his birthday party. Questions about horrible things in his past, long buried, resurfaced. There was swift backlash against him. Once one person is fearless enough to come forward, others follow. |
I don’t blame her for not wanting to be dragged socially and legally for years by her abuser when he has the money to do so indefinitely. There is a huge power and financial indifference here. You are already here judging her for doing what is likely in her and her children’s best interest with zero understanding or compassion for what’s she’s been thru. You are foolish to think that she would have stood any chance of “winning” in this scenario without settling. Why doesn’t the settling make it look like she was right and he is Covering his ass. |
True.. but now there's a lot more negative "stuff" out there about him. |
It is not either/or. She could also feel there is some justice in him paying millions, and being outed for what he is. It also lets her an avoid the judgement and humiliation (and attacks) most victims of celebrities suffer. If he COULD clear his name, he would have every incentive to do it. There must be tons of evidence supporting her claims |
So why is he not in jail? If what you are saying is true, the car bombing seems like a slam dunk. |
|
Pretty dumb of him not to settle before she filed if he was going to fold so quickly. I mean, presumably he knows he did what was alleged so why let it go public? Scary to think about all the cases like this that did settle before filing!
But now that it's out there, isn't there a responsibility on the state to investigate the alleged crimes that aren't past the stature of limitations? |
He thought he still had control over her. |
+1 |
| He needs to be criminally charged. Let him move out of the country to dodge the charges like Roman Polanski and Russell Simmons did. |
