Unless you are a pedestrian?

Actually still safer in that case context as well.

Disappointed in this thread. From the title I was expecting:

If you have a Tesla, you are an entitled asshole
If you have a Tesla, you have supported a megalomaniac narcissist
If you have a Tesla, you don't own the road

I was looking forward to laughs. Oh well

They're a dime a dozen in Loudoun HS parking lots. And Loudoun in general.

Same where I live. They’re not expensive and kids think they’re cool. So it’s a win-win. They go very fast very quickly so despite the “win-win”
parents should think twice.

They also have a bunch of safety features that negate that concern. Plus you give drivers certain permission/limitatons/throttle the output.

I don’t understand the issue. I would never buy a Tesla for other reasons but it if was my car and I let my teen borrow it he would drive it. He drives our cars when we let him borrow them. He doesn’t get to be picky on the make and model.

Everything about this is true except they ARE expensive. Just dumb Loudoun parents don't care. Sounds about right IME.

I'm the Model Y PP - the Model 3 and Model Y aren't expensive compared to what else is available in the same price range, especially after the tax break + no gas/oil changes etc. They ARE expensive to insure and register (where I live).

I gave my college ds a budget and he found a used model 3 in that budget.

Would you feel this way if the conversation was about a Ford Explorer because they are about the same price as a Mosely 3 or Y.
