I'm beginning to think it is only a few people on this website that mention this whenever Frisch is mentioned. My kids went to Shrevewood and are now at Kilmer/Marshall and nobody complains about this in my neighborhood. Building new schools in Falls Church is a good thing.

The new school isn’t in Falls Church, dummy. And the “existing school property” to which you refer will be torn down in its entirety.

Karl relies on people like you who don’t know what you’re talking about to support him. People who’ve bothered to educate themselves know this is a giant waste of money.

That area is basically Falls Church. I'm looking at it from the point of view of reducing overcrowding in FC schools.

FCPS already owns that property. One of the biggest costs for new school buildings is the enormous costs for property, so using existing school property (that isn't really being used) is actually saving probably tens of millions

And he should not be anywhere near a position of authority anywhere, if he's that clueless about people's feelings.

What makes it worse is that it's probably a stunt. There's no way auctioning off a weapon will raise enough to campaign. So he's doing it on purpose to get attention, thinking that any attention is better than none.

Repulsive.

This is the same guy that keeps putting his signs in PARKS. Probably won't be removing them after election day either. Just like that woman who ran against Don Beyer last year and had 1 million signs up everywhere except yards.

The same type of gun used in the deadliest mass shooting in American history!!!

This man is dangerous and should not be within 250 feet of a school.

That’s one way to turn off the voter that was willing to vote outside their party this election.

It’s basically Vienna, not Falls Church. And FCPS owns other sites that would have made far more sense, including in Pimmit Hills (which is in Falls Church) and Tysons.

Karl sold this to people who liked the idea of rehabbing the historic 1930s school building into a school again. But once it got approved we were told it would have to be torn down completely.

So we’ll get some new school that isn’t needed, surrounded by other schools that are below capacity, unless the next School Board cancels the project. On a School Board full of mediocrity, Frisch takes the cake. He is a complete idiot.

The only FCPS elementary schools in Falls Church projected to be overcrowded (even excluding trailers and modulars) in 2027-28 are Glen Forest and Bailey’s Lower, both at the other end of Falls Church in the Justice pyramid and far from Dunn Loring.

Dunn Loring, on the other hand, borders Vienna and is near multiple schools projected to be roughly 20% or more under-capacity.

So you are either misinformed or intentionally lying. Which is it?

Interesting.
Speaking of campaign fundraising, which way is better or worse: selling rifle or performing online sex? Politicians are creative !

Almost all guns are semi automatic, stop the fear mongering

Is there a worse choice to be made in the upcoming School Board elections than between Karl Frisch and Tony Sabio? Providence District has some smart people, but they sure as hell aren't running for School Board.
Anonymous
That is honestly outrageous behavior. No one should be using the words school and semi-automatic weapon in the same sentence unless they are advocating to save our children from them.

Children are being murdered in their schools. What's not to fear?

The answer is: both are bad, of course.

There were folks in Oakton/Fairfax who just wanted to save the dog park at costs. Damn the kids. Some were former neighbors of mine when I lived in a condo off Blake. I loved for the school bond in 2010 that included this money. I have since moved to Fairfax City. There were folks in Oakton/Fairfax who saw the need for a school but wanted a location with more land and a more better intersection.

For Dunn Loring they can't use the old building, it's a bad intersection and enrollment could have ben fixed with redistricting and less redistricting than a new Dunn Loring will need. I followed what was happening in that area as we had an elderly relative who needed to sell a home in that area.

It was all pushed though around Christmas break. There was a meeting for Oakton, Mosaic and Providence parents via Zoom and it was obvious the decision was pre-determined. There was no time to mobilize.

BTW I'm a democrat and agree that Sabio isn't a good option. Too bad an independent can't see to run anymore. I can't vote since I'm a Fairfax City resident, we pay FCPS to run our schools but get little say.

For all of Karl Frisch's blathering on about what he's done for FCPS (when he's done very little, and what he has done is mostly bad), his entire campaign ought to be: "I Want to Control the Guns My Opponent Owns."
