Any updates on Beidleman?

There's no reason to believe she isn't sick. Implying she isn't without supporting evidence makes you seem unhinged.

One of the speakers in the board meeting yesterday said something about a report that was supposed to be released in October and staff on hand proudly updated that it will come out in December. But nobody ever updates on delays or holds anyone accountable. That goes back to leadership who don't think they're accountable to anyone. She is responsible for that.

Another example - her contract clearly said she's supposed to live in Montgomery County and the contract generously gave her a full year to move (plus the months where she wasn't officially super but knew she had the job). She waited until the last possible minute ...supposedly...but there is some weird stuff afoot with her claiming her house in PG is her principal residence. You can't live in Bethesda to get residency for a job and have your principal residence for tax relief be in PG.

I agree with others you seem to have it out for McKnight. Why do you care soo much where she lives and when she moves. That has no bearing in her ability to do the job and housing is a mess right now.

The buck can stop with a leader and they shoulder the blame without them actually being at fault or having done anything maliciously. Especially when it seems that the transgression span years before then. McKnight hired some people but some she also inherited. It’s not like she fired the entirety of CO or the school system writ large and started from scratch.

Are there changes needed? Yes. Are there people that should be held accountable? Yes. Should we let the investigation finish? Yes

She signed a contract saying she would move to Montgomery County. If she doesn't live here and hasn't negotiated a new contract, she is in breach. That is unethical. The market is a mess, yes, and had she negotiated an extension to that clause, nobody would care. But she's unethical and thinks she can get away with being unethical because the board never holds her accountable. And that is DIRECTLY related to this Beidelman issue.

She makes $300k a year. The market is not a mess for people who make $300k a year. The problem is how it reflects on her integrity. If she didn’t want to move here, she shouldn’t have signed the contract.

Most people don’t care where McKnight lives as long as it’s commuting distance to MCPS. It’s not something we’re going to harp on/investigate during the Beidelman debacle or any other time because there are more important concerns and interest.

I don't actually care that much about where she lives, but I care very much that she changed her residence just long enough to nominally comply with the letter of her contract, and then secretly changed it back for tax benefit.

That's a character issue. It also shows a contempt for the contract that she knowingly signed, and doesn't give me confidence in her integrity more broadly.

What concerns me is you are more concerned about things like these small details of her contract than you are about Bieldman harassing all these women.

DP. I am most concerned about the superintendent’s lack of candor and integrity than I am about one bad principal.

Tax fraud is actually not a small detail of her contract, but it is possible to care about two (or more) things at once. I care that Biedelman was a bully and sex pest. I also care that he was allowed to continue as a bully and sex pest for YEARS and that victims were subjected to gaslighting and retaliation. Moreover, I care that the victims saw their documented claims summarily dismissed by McKnight's team, and that she promoted him despite those claims.

I care about the individual bad actor, but I also care about the system that protected and promoted the bad actor.

As others have pointed out, a system that would promote Beidelmen is a system that is not built to keep teachers or children safe, and so we have a responsibility as parents to demand that system change. This includes removing people who created and upheld the system.

Source? Or is this just another disparaging rumor?

I love that the title is "Any updates on Beidleman" as a cover for attacking McKnight.

Thank God for it- because no one else in local media or politics had even scratched the surface of these fairly massive scandals.

They have done yeoman work.

No, you misunderstood me. I definitely agree that The Post journalists did indeed do yeo(wo)man work on the actual Beidleman case theoretically under discussion here. But the people who went digging into McKnight's residency info were not from the Post and are not journalists.
