What do we tell our kids to do? Serious question. What do I tell my kid to do if another student pulls out a gun in the hallway.

Run away immediately.

Then call the police.

Thanks.

How about a bomb threat? Today, some of the kids at Rockville were herded to the stadium for the bomb threat. Should I tell my kid to just leave the premises if there is a bomb threat as some kids did?

So glad the student saw something and said something.

There are some seriously deranged people who just love to kick people when they're down, especially those who they falsely perceive to have previously criticized their life choices.

The troll who gloats that W parents are now not as high and mighty as they pretend to be is just a sick individual, since he or she should realize that the majority of these families have not opined any which way, and that s/he cannot generalize the behaviors of a few to an entire population. And let's not point out that weapons have been found in ALL MCPS high schools are various times, and that WJ is as safe as they come.

But if people realized that, there wouldn't be wars, and particularly not one in the Middle East, so the troll is sadly one of many idiots...

I’ve read the letter s couple times now. Why was the school not locked down when it was reported?

Tell them to study and earn alot of money so they don't have to send their own kids to this dump of a school district.

No school is safe, guns are rampant everywhere. Until there is the political will to address it nationwide, it will continue. Makes me so sad

MCPS have SRO’s idiot and they didn’t do anything to prevent the gun.

They have CRO's and security but they need way more. And, they need metal and other detectors.

CROs are SROs by another name. And once again no … security and SROs don’t fix this

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the superior W school parents in question, that y’all insist do not exist.

You're that a hole that antagonizes people into a fight and then runs around telling everyone the other guy is aggressive

Thats what they said about the guy who assaulted the wj student after the football game. But he wasn't charged as an adult.

Do you have a link for this?

This is a great example where SROs would have been crucial. The student reported the incident to security instead of SRO since there aren't any. A police officer could have intervened immediately whereas security had to ask the guy to self frisk. Ridiculous. Wate of precious minutes in an emergency.

Get a life. Seriously.

That’s your take away from this horrible situation?

IKR?!!

Good Lord!

Thank goodness no one was injured.

Whenever admins refer to serious consequences repeatedly, makes me wonder if they are as serious as parents may wish. Anyone know what they are in detail? Bc avoided spelling out.
