Wearing ridiculous shoes with sweats does not dress them up. I feel like this look was inspired by a unhoused person.

They are sweatpants. Let them be what they are.

I think the outfit with the cardigan and ballet flats is cute.

If that's too athletic for you, then I can vouch for the J. Crew factory pintuck sweatpants, which are more polished looking but still comfy like sweats and a little more versatile. I wash on cold inside-out and hang dry, because they tend to fade.

I think these are the best option so far.

I wouldn't think of calling those sweatpants (I know that's the name). Those are pull on work pants.

OP specifically said she didn't want anything that looked too athletic. Please offer up your not-too-athletic but not-too-work-pants-looking option. These are comfortable and look nice with a casual sweater and loafers but are still workable with a quarter zip sweatshirt and sneakers.

These brands all make pants that are yoga pant/sweatpant material but structured like a pair of slacks. I wear them with ballet flats and /or sandals or shoes all the time. With a sweater or nice shirt.

Anything banded at the bottom or tight like leggings are not going to pass for regular pants. They have to be straight leg or slightly flared and a thicker material.

These would only look decent on a thin person. Put even a small mother's apron in those pants and it's not flattering.

Mother’s apron??? Lady I am a mom and I can tell you nothing on my body looks like an apron.

Good to know! I bought a couple Quince sweaters after googling "Jenni Kayne fisherman sweater knockoff" and I am very happy with the quality. What Quince sweats do you like?

People need to stop recommending Vuori. I swore by them but their quality is total garbage these days. It used to be so much better. I am holding on to my 2019/2020 pairs for dear life.

Are you the same person who comes on here and says this in any thread where Vuori is recommended? This is made up and in your head. I have joggers from 2019 and 2 pairs I bought this year, and they are exactly the damn same! No one is saying this except you.

You’re wrong! The company has even admitted they changed their material. So whether it’s me or not, it’s irrelevant because the quality has in fact changed and not for the better.

I love Vuori as much as everyone but the quality has tanked.

NP. I have tried to find new sweat joggers (ordered some Lululemon and didn't like the fit or the feel so returned) and then kept navy heather vuori b/c too lazy to return. Started to wear Vuori ones a few times a week, so ordered another pair in different navy color and while waiting for those to arrive, have noticed some light pilling on the first ones. So i can't speak to earlier versions, but if this is the trend after less than a month, I will have to return the second pair after they arrive and move on (SIGH).

These look like me taking out the trash after I changed into my lounge at home wear just grabbing the closest shoes to the door

Yeah, that's a term that's really gross and has to go, along with "incompetent cervix."

😍
Sweats and working with sweats material (cotton fleece) is what Norma Kamali is most known for and where she really shines. I genuinely love her stuff! Although, no joke, I think my posts are being “reported” and some actually taken down. Lol, who would’ve thought fashion could be so controversial!

Np who also feels that Vuori sucks now. Material isn’t as nice, jackets are SO boxy and their customer service is awful.
