I agree. But she makes him out to be a jerk about it. And on top of his cheating scandal and rumored infidelity, his reputation could use some rehabilitation.

Why is being honest about not being ready for a kid “being a jerk”?

I just think it seems like it affected her emotionally more than it did for him, and that he wasn’t there for her. I agree that a baby would have been a disaster. But like so many guys, he had no problem getting her pregnant and seemed to be emotionally unavailable when she suffered the repercussions of it.

Imagine that a 20 yo not being emotionally available. This is true for women and men.

Sure, but men don’t have to deal with the ultimate decision and possible trauma of aborting a pregnancy.

Slightly different, but my husband wound up taking a miscarriage harder than I did emotionally. Men can surprise you sometimes.

He was with me 100% when we made the decision (not at all a hard one, honestly) at 21 to terminate a pregnancy-we had just started dating. Took me to the clinic, sat with me inside until it was time, then took care of me the whole weekend.

Awww. How romantic! Nothing bonds people better than a good ole fashioned abortion.

Not the PP, but you're right. A partner being compassionate and supportive before, during and following abortion IS a bonding experience.

Yes - nothing like bonding over the willful termination of your first child.

I thought she cheated on him.

+1 hence “cry me a river”.

as everyone should have the right to do if they're not ready to raise a child.

Most definitely. I still think of that time with love and appreciation for my husband. Deeply bonded us. I'm not the original PP of that story, either. Just another woman who had an abortion (WHILE married!) and a loving husband to support me through it - walked through the protesters with me, held my hand, took care of me after. This was 20 years ago and I'll never forget it.

And to the poster who said: "Unless he performed the procedure stop it with “pressured her”. This was Brittney’s choice to terminate. Her body her CHOICE."

I totally agree. I think a man is justified in giving his opinion of the situation, so I don't fault anyone for encouraging his partner to have an abortion if he doesn't want a child. In the end, it's the woman's choice. And from what we know about Ms. Spears, most likely the right one.

This was over 20 years ago, when she was healthy. He's an ass of a man, abortion aside.

What? Didn’t she have a mental breakdown and shave her head in 2007? Sounds like you may also be mentally ill and therefore don’t know what ‘healthy’ means.

Per the title, Britney revealed that she had an abortion while in a relationship with Timberlake because he “didn’t want to be a father.” Yikes. I’m pro choice, but the phrasing isn’t a good look for him.

I hate her now. Forever.

NP. Do you know what “over 20 years ago” means? We’re not talking about 2007.

Not to mention, she was also reportedly drinking daiquiris with her mother since the eighth grade. She was not in a healthy place for the majority of her early adult life, if not late teens as well.

Of course he wasn't ready to be a father, he was like 20 years old. Nothing wrong with expressing his thoughts on the matter. I don't care for him, but he was right.

I can understand not being ready for a kid and this is not that shocking to me.

But anyone who ever wronged Britney should be TERRIFIED right now because she is starting to spill the tea!!

DP. I think they’re talking about his cheating a couple of years ago where he was holding hands with his coworker.

But did he really wrong her? Did it say he pressured her into getting an abortion when she didn't want to? Will admit I haven't read it and haven't read all this thread.

Bryan is Britney's older brother. I have no idea if that's what PP is referencing and have no desire to click on their links.
