That's the teacher's job, not the students' |
OP's DD didn't cheat. OP's DD doesn't know who cheated. |
She needs to advocate for herself. If anyone's going to complain, it should be her. |
Did you attend high school? Everyone knows who the cheater is. |
From the mind of the cheater:
If they come forward, they will get a 0 (and possibly other consequences). If they don't come forward, the whole class will get a 0. So they get a 0 either way---why confess? |
The teacher (why do you use the pronoun she?) doesn't need to assume EVERY (why did you yell like this?) child knows. Only one needs to know. And one of them definitely does. |
It's like none of you are familiar with honor codes... |
Spoiler: the plaintiff will end up being the cheater’s family |
I would let it play out before doing anything since the teacher is likely bluffing.
I would also tell your kid this is not right and you will back her up if the need arises but that sometimes people get angry and their first reaction isn’t their finest, and it can help to give space for them to work through it. Have her imagine how the teacher is feeling after working to educate the class and then seeing their hard work is not met with integrity. If the teacher does follow through (unlikely) then make a game plan together. In other words coach empathy and conflict resolution. |
I never knew. I have Aspergers and stayed in my lane because I didn't know how not to. |
It's never honorable to punish the innocent. |
I don’t have Asperger’s and I never knew either. I wasn’t cool enough to know those things. |
Pretty common! |
Team teacher.
Old school values. |
Ok thank you for sharing your super specific situation that has nothing to do with this thread |
