Are principals required to respond to emails?

Until MCPS CO and leadership are held accountable, don't expect anything to change unless pressure is put on them from an outside source they can't control. What's an outside source?

Public articles are the best way to get things moving in MCPS. MCPS reacts quickly to bad press.

From what I've seen, a Complaint from the Public won't do anything either. It just wastes your time, so if you want something done, either hire a lawyer, file with the Federal Department of Education, or the Maryland Inspector General.

If the behavior is criminal or misdemeanor, call the police and file a complaint. A kid without respect for adults is headed to trouble anyway, so at least this helps to fill in the gaps since the SRO's are not around to do that.

If the behavior is non-criminal or doesn't rise to a level of misdemeanor, I would take it to NextDoor, FaceBook, etc. From my personal observations, the Principals seem to keep things quiet versus act.

Whatever you do, don't expect MCPS to "do the right thing" on it's own or to tell the truth. I tried that and lost, so take this advice from someone who's "been there."
