More Affordable Quality Independent School

Rising 2nd grader sounds like the might thrive in a proper Montessori, but AFAIK most aren't looking to bring in new-to-Montessori students in 2nd grade (the classroom is organized on a 3-year cycle, either PK2-K or grades 1-3 or 4-6).

Is your kid going to play a popular sport at a D1 level? If so, this is correct. If not, you aren't getting massive discounts for three kids

Most Catholic schools are not independent and most people who specify independent are not looking for a Catholic school.

Parish schools are not, the rest are.

Ok and the key point remains that people who specify independent generally are not looking for Catholic.

Just fixing the error.

No error. There are far more parish schools than “independent Catholic”

Unless one of the kids has true special needs, save your money, fund your retirement and/or college plans instead. The SAH parent can do a lot w/supplementing, etc.

It sounds like OP is more concerned about the journey than the outcome. The journey was fine for you, but it isn't for everyone. Also, if the journey isn't working for you, the outcome will be worse. If it ain't broke, don't fix it; but it is broke, don't use it if you can replace it.

I agree with the first PP. And it sounds like OP can't afford to replace public school with private. And she hasn't even really specified what is wrong other than her second child needs smaller class sizes which she can easily get in a different public school. Our non-Title1 public school never had a single class over 23. Often 20-21.
