Your Favorite Rolling / EA Colleges

All had early November EA deadlines and notified very quickly. Lewis & Clark offered great merit aid to my kid. I became big fans of each of these schools during the application process, although my kid went elsewhere.

I had a kid apply to L&C for class of 20 and class of 23 HS grad. Both applied EA and head in January or early February. Both got great merit and both chose other schools. Interestingly, my 23 kid just received additional merit even after rejecting them.

L&C is beautiful! It seemed like a great school but very liberal and a large LGBTQ presence.

Loyola Chicago
University of TN
Michigan State
Binghamton

Definitely apply early to Pitt! Very early! Otherwise, chances of getting waitlisted, etc., increase significantly.

Add University of Arizona - they accept within 6 weeks of application, plus they tell you what your aid package is.

EA—I assume you want schools that have EA and also inform you early? Some schools have EA but you don’t hear until Feb/Mar.

These two notified by December something, if not earlier.

UVM
Kalamazoo College

Was nice to have acceptances before Christmas.

When do they notify?

Not rolling but notify Dec 1 for ED and Dec 15 for EA.

I think they call it EA, but they issue decisions on a rolling basis. My son applied last Year, in mid October, and was accepted in about 2 weeks. They also gave some nice merit.

We visited, and it is a nice school. Strong for CS. My son seriously considered it, but decided on Pitt.

Great option though!

+1. Identical experience and field of study. I WISH son would have seriously considered. Decided on UMD from NOVA.

UMD CS is probably better than any of the rolling schools listed, no?

And there's a handy calculator you can use to see whether you will be accepted. He didn't choose to go there or the other EA/Rolling schools that accepted him, but it was a huge relief to know he had choices even before the other applications were due.

Here is the calculator in case you're interested: https://www.iowaregents.edu/institutions/higher-education-links/regent-admission-index/rai-calculator

Not sure I understand how to use the calculator. It seems like it only applies to in-state highschoolers. My NOVA kid with 363, does it mean that it is automatic enrollment already?!
