Are you voting for Fenty or Gray?

i also think that not only will rhee get the boot but possibly lanier, too, as much of black electorate wants black folks in those jobs, and i think lanier has done a lot to improve police responsiveness to residents' needs.

and it annoys the piss outta me that gray wont answer on rhee.

Voting for Fenty. I voted for Gray four years ago for council chair and am disappointed he will not remain on the council. His talent is best used in the legislative process where one needs to build consensus for policy. Not confident that Gray will make a good executive - a wholly different skill set. Fenty's conduct has disappointed me, but, at the end of the day, I want a strong mayor, not a drinking buddy.

I think Gray is serious and sensible, but we're not his constituents and he won't be serving us or our priorities. We're middle income people who can't afford to bypass DCPS and live centrally (NW slightly east of the park), so we're not about to retreat into isolated low-density car-dominated enclaves without a reduction in quality of life if commerce and recreation advances in central areas stall under Gray.

This is us - 2 more votes for Fenty. For all the good it's going to do.

This is us too. Ward 8. Me, biracial, 30...DH 35 black. Child in charter.

I hope your child already has a permanent school building. Also, have you heard of fair fundng for charters.

Gray has been a successful executive (CEO) in the non profit sector.

I am still undecided! Coin toss! Seriously, I cannot make up my mind. White, NW, child attended DCPS for eight years, now in private. I shop in Mayor Fenty's parents store.

ABC just reported that the Fenty campaign is paying people to vote for him. Maybe that will help you make up your mind.

Remember that three weeks ago Fenty vetoed a bill passed by the Council (introduced by Mary Cheh) that made vote buying illegal. Apparently, we know why now.

PG county resident for Gray...Stop it with the getting all upscale and pushing all the low income people into our county already. We have our share, thanks. (I'm kidding BTW).

Yeah, and look at the fucking shit your moderate gop friends helped us to. Thanks to them, we are grateful for a collapsed economy, two freaking wars, and the scorn of thw world. Way to go.

Don't be daft. The GOP didn't cause the economy to collapse. First of all the economy didn't really collapse and if you want to get that radical then here is the truth. Ordinary Americans are to blame. Those people who lived beyond their means, put everything on credit, and bought houses because they thought they had a god given right to do so. Carry On.

Also, 2 votes for Fenty here. Ward 3 couple no kids, one pet. We are upwardly mobile and fee a lot of Fenty in us. We really don't have time for the petty handholding BS that most of these "older" residents seem to want. The city is moving in the right direction, Gray can not stop it but he sure seems to want to slow the train.

Did he buy your vote also?

PP I've lived in DC for over 30 years, and most of these "older residents" to whom you so derisively refer have lived and worked here their whole lives, in good times and bad, and as far as I'm concerned, they deserve a little "hand-holding." Frankly, I'd be happy to see people like you take your "upwardly mobile" asses and move to the suburbs. And I'm an upper income voter (HHI above $400K) who originally supported Fenty and is incredibly disappointed in him. Most of my friends have no desire to go back to the "old days" -- as Fenty would have you think. But we do want responsible, honest, and accountable government, adn we haven't been getting it with Fenty. And most of us don't give a rat's ass about dog parks in a city with as many problems as DC.

What difference does it make what Gray says about Rhee? Rhee has already said she won't work for him. (Mighty unprofessional of her, I might add. Isn't she "all about the children"?)

1 vote for Gray today! 12 years in DC. Middle/upper-middle class (depends on if you ask me or the IRS - I think we're house-poor), caucasian mother of 4. Children in charter schools. Supporter of honest government. Truly, truly hoping that Gray wins!!
