MIL staying with us postpartum?

Anonymous
Hi OP, hope you have a fantastic delivery and postpartum period. I think there are a lot of unknowns there. My best friend had a difficult labor and delivery and she was on bedrest for 6 weeks after- I cannot imagine what she would do without family support. Mine was easier and I was fine with the baby just with my partners' help even though we had another child. All these stories are personal plus it depends on your home's size and your relationship with your MIL. Sounds like you have a good connection with her but whatever you decide I think you have to accept that its all give and take. You can have her around and your FIL might be upset for not being invited but you might get extra sleep hours. You might end up having a c-section and need extra support- who knows? So whatever you decide, stick up to it and try to see the bright side.
