gt It’s a parents question. Mind YOUR own business. |
You completely missed their point, didn't you? Pause, read, think, try to understand the point they are making and try again. |
Why does a school need a standard that says girls can't wear pants for graduation? |
I don’t understand their point. Slavery is constitutionally banned. Nobody wants slavery. So what is the point that slavery is “local”? It sounds like the person is saying I am racist if I don’t support the transvestitism. |
First of all yes, there are extremists who think slavery is not a bad system. If you think that is a lie I invite you to read up about modern slavery and also hang out in some extreme right-wing white nationalists chat rooms. Second of all, what's it to you how other people dress themselves? Really, please tell us why you care so much that you want to regulate what other people wear. How does it harm you physically or mentally if someone wears clothes you perceive -- because of the culture you live in -- to be the "wrong" gendered wardrobe? Specifics for how it harms you and why you think it therefore should be regulated by the state. |
Last time it was gay marriage, now it’s this. No big deal, we’ll get through it. |
+1. It's always something with conservatives but eventually progressives do win. This is just their new grievance. |
Yawn. . . |
Yep, just let the kid wear what she wants. |
Exactly, who cares what a kid wears under their graduation gown? I see you agree that the school administration should have yawned as they'd already previously yawned when the same kid wore the same clothes at every other school event and prom, right? |
+1 |
It sounds like the principal had no problem but then got a call from the county Superintendent of Education who forced the issue and everybody else caved to the bigot. |
The Republicans use scare tactics to wind up parents. They are against everything and use culture wars to divert attention from real issues. |
This is a national news story about litigation about a teenager wearing pants.
I mean, I'm republican and I guess this is silly. I'm surprised the school pushed that hard, but also surprised that this resulted in litigation and national attention. It's pants. Under a gown. That's pretty androgynous. |
As is a gown apparently? |
