Fine. Then let them close it. Doesn’t affect me in the least. I can get anything I needed by Instacart, peapod or Amazon. |
You do realize that Instacart and peapod shop for you at stores. |

“Now we’re stuck with lame duck Frumin who cruises around the Ward on his bike like some Bon vivant looking for a fresh baguette.”
A+ All posts should meet this high bar of righteous mockery of our councilmembers. |
| When I get my ballot I vote straight Republican, from whomever is opposing Eleanor Holmes Norton on down. if Republicans are lacking, I research centrist independents. Try it. |
Coolio, Then the Smash & grab stolen get away car can just follow the delivery trucks and take the stuff already bagged from your driveway or porch. Whatch gonna do? Send the ring cam footage to the police? lol. |

If a fraction of the registered Republicans in Ward 3 had opted to Register as Democrats and voted in the Democratic primary, it would have been enough to change the outcome. The difference was only 2,371 votes. Let's face it, the Democratic primary is the only one that counts in D.C.; to my knowledge, a Republican has ever defeated a Democrat in a contested general election. Even if people don't like that, they can still vote for the Democrat they like in the primary and a Republican in the general (it's not like Krucoff was running against anyone in the Republican primary). From my experience working the polls, though, very few D.C. voters - no matter their SES or how long they've lived here - have any idea about the policies of the people they vote for. I'd gather most wouldn't even be able to tell you all of the people they vote for (particularly in the Board of Elections, Attorney, and even some At-Large Council races), and would know even fewer of the other candidates who were running. |
Is it your belief that the ward council member is supposed to be out there policing the streets? How exactly do you think the city’s public safety policies would be different if one of 13 councilmembers was different? I promise you the members from wards with more crime than Ward 3 are more effective advocates here than Frumin or Krucoff would have been on this point. |
I now know why I am seeing tons of MD and DC plates in Northern VA parking lots. |
Republican David Catania defeated Democrat Arrington Dixon for an at-large Council seat. |
Is that link 10 years old? |
| Went by this CVS yesterday. There was a security guard stationed outside. The wealthies of Spring Valley have had their safe little bubble pierced. Now they get to enjoy that blighted feeling the rest of us in the city have experienced these past three crime ridden years. Please stop electing crazy progressives. |
What is crazy about this is that funding keeps going up. We are one of the most highly policed cities in the country, just counting MPD, yet still. Our police have some of the highest salaries in the country with incredible incentives. We probably need a consent decree with DOJ to get our evidence collecting in order so DOJ's USA can successfully prosecute. MPD and the Crime Lab are the jokes that keep us from a safe city at this point. |
I’m not shopping anywhere that hires a security guard. It’s offensive and verily reeks of racism. |
When safety and security fail as public goods, they will be replaced by safety and security as private goods. I’d prefer that the former work because I’ve lived in countries where they do the latter. |
