Human life has more value than dog life. Its just reality. |
Well humans don't value human lives either. I totally disagree with you as well. Why do you suppose human lives are more important than any other living creature? |
We are talking about dogs killing or harming humans and if you compare it to humans killing dogs we are the "blood sport"animals not the dogs. Because humans bred those dogs long time ago. And they continue to mistreat these dogs so it isn't a false equivalence. Humans are always to blame. Always |
Does this really make sense to you as an argument? For all of human time, problem animals have been put down. “Man eating” tigers and lions and bears are hunted down and killed because once they have developed human aggression, they can’t be trusted, even in the wild. Only with pit bulls do you have people making the arguments that they need a second chance, or arguing that since humans kill more humans, then… then what exactly? Are you suggesting that no dog be put down ever for mauling humans unless…? |
I cannot believe I am having to explain this to you. You're being obtuse or you're intellectually deficient. Either way here's your answer - Because a dog cannot build a house, engineer a bridge, write a novel, treat cancers or even live for much beyond 10 years. Their purpose is to be joyful and companion-like, to bark at strangers approaching the house and roll on their backs for scratches with family, which when they do well, they do very well. |
Yes, when there are too many of this breed in shelters getting euthanized because they are surrendered, the breed is the problem. It’s a problem that people made, so we should be the ones to solve it. To put it into perspective, banning pit bulls or restricting them is not a crazy radical idea. Many countries have a ban or restrictions in place. Like at least 30-40. And the us and Canada are the only two countries that allow them to be imported. So this isn’t a bunch of nut jobs clamoring to ban pit bulls. Most countries that we travel to have already banned or restricted them. It reminds me of Americans hollering about wild eyed liberals asking for gun restrictions when most of the rest of the world has recognized that guns are a problem (again created by people). |
You are conflating “problem” and “fault”. The influenza virus causes thousands of deaths. It’s a problem. It’s not the virus’s fault. Hitting deer on the highway usually kills the deer and causes damage to life and property. Deer on the highway is a problem. It is not the deer’s fault. Ticks that carry Lyme disease and other tick borne viruses and parasites cause debilitating illnesses. Ticks are a problem. It’s not the ticks’ fault. |
Well I can't believe I have to explain it to you. Who created the atomic bomb? HUMANS? Who kill each other for fancy shoes? HUMANS? Who start wars where children and women are killed and raped? HUMANS! Who bred these dogs ( long time ago) to fight and kill other dogs/animals HUMANS. Who continue to mistreat these and other dogs? HUMANS. And we wonder why dogs attack when they aren't given the basics of food, water, shelter, training, companionship and love? |

I think you're missing the basic point. If a dog dies it is a shame, if a human child is mauled to death it is a tragedy. |
It sounds like you're saying that since some humans kill each other and have committed crimes against each other, we should allow anything else on earth to also kill us. |
No I am not saying that. I am saying that punishing the dogs is the wrong way to approach the problem. If humans were held accountable and treated their dogs right in the first place than they wouldn't maul anyone. |
False. Genetics matter. Did the Tennessee couple who reportedly babied their dogs and treated them like cherished children not treat them right before they tore their kids from limb to limb and almost killed mom? Exemplary dog owners who give nothing but love and support have been killed by their dogs after years of cuddles. Those dogs who do this are by and large Pits. The, "they were abused, it comes down to the owners" argument is pure BS. Anyone who knows about dog breeding gets that. Interestingly, the Pit breeders are the most with it on this! They readily admit they breed for gameness and like showing it off. |
When the dogs were first bred yes but now with mixes you can't point to genetics. Did you live with these people? Perhaps they let the children do things with dogs that they didn't like and since they didn't stop it the dogs took it to the next level. Not saying this isn't tragic but babyng your dogs isn't treating them the way they should be treated. Unless you live with these parents you don't know what happened |
You do realize, there are many many dogs that kids mess around with and do things kids don't like who don't go from 0 to killing machines in the blink of an eye and without warning? But I get it, you and I will not see eye to eye. You're a pit mommy and there will always be a "reason" these dogs are justified in killing kids and adults that has nothing to do with the breed. As a former animal shelter worker and rescue foster, I disagree. It's probably the parents and those effing kids who did something to deserve their deaths! |
