Loved that show. Didn't Evan Rachel Wood get her start on that show? |
| I remember they treated 30 as if it were old / middle aged, not “young” |
How so? They were either married parents of young kids or singles. |
That wasn't my impression. |
I thought the point was that some of the characters had moved into grownup roles like parenthood and professions and others were still trying to find themselves. This was before everyone considered 30s an extension of 20s. |
Yep! I loved it, too. Sela Ward and Billy Campbell had excellent chemistry. |
| Add me to thinking “thirtysomething” was about old people when I was in college! Then I fell in love with it when I caught reruns in my late 20s as I was about to get married. I used to program my VCR (!!!) to tape episodes!! |

I was a 20-something when thirtysomething aired and despite the fact I was in grad school and not quite at the point in my life as the characters, I still loved it. I wonder what I'd think today at nearly 60 with my 30s way in the rear-view mirror.
Another show I'd love to see again that has too much music to get the rights is American Dreams, on in the early 2000s. It took place in the 1960s, with the daughter a dancer on American bandstand. |
