Last night we planned our route to the restaurant and from there to the concert to avoid the worst areas (multiple shootings, armed robberies of persons, and unprovoked attacks). Our friend from Baltimore thought DC was sketchiest its ever looked

Last night, I went to dinner in Shaw, and then got drinks on U st. I felt completely safe the entire time. My friend from Baltimore was confused by all the crime drama she's been seeing on Twitter.

Well that proves DC doesn't need a police department. Fire them all.

I'd like to see the % that have made changes to former routines and activities due to fear of crime in DMV.

A lot of republicans fear trasngender people. We should probably make policies based on that as well

Well, if she's from Baltimore, then of course she'd be confused. It's like when I moved here from Philly and couldn't understand why people would complain about a single pothole on a busy street. I was used to streets full of potholes as a matter of course.

Somewhat, haha.

Good for you. Two people died where you had drinks in the last several months. One was 15 years old. Several were wounded.

This whole thread has been overtaken by the No/Do little no/good army of people who’ll one day wake up in their rat infested studios and wonder where the time has gone. I’m out. You’ve lost the votes of everyone I know and this is losing you more. You can’t afford the loss on your margins

To the I fell totally safe; a few people dying are of no consequence to me when I go drink and eat when they died; I feel no less safe.

It’s called: cutting off your nose to spite your face (by which I mean the election)

NP. No one is saying this, drama queen. What is going on is over-reporting and sensationalizing crime. DC has crime. We need a good police force but it isn’t a crime hellscape like some lead everyone to believe.

No it’s not. What’s going on is refusing to even utter the word crime let alone report it. People have bullet holes in their condos in central DC. Fun? No

What I hate about you crime deniers is lack of any empathy for the victims. You are not brave. You are selfish and a bad person.

Well I don’t live there. I live in a boring part of the city. We don’t have shootings. DC has pockets of crime but that doesn’t mean it’s a crime ridden hellscape. It means some areas have crime, some don’t.
