I won't let my kid play at our nearest playground due to a shooting. I would only walk a large dog at night in my neighborhood. I avoid driving down a street two blocks away due to the frequency of shootings.
Last night we planned our route to the restaurant and from there to the concert to avoid the worst areas (multiple shootings, armed robberies of persons, and unprovoked attacks). Our friend from Baltimore thought DC was sketchiest its ever looked
Last night, I went to dinner in Shaw, and then got drinks on U st. I felt completely safe the entire time. My friend from Baltimore was confused by all the crime drama she's been seeing on Twitter.
Well that proves DC doesn't need a police department. Fire them all.
NP. No one is saying this, drama queen. What is going on is over-reporting and sensationalizing crime. DC has crime. We need a good police force but it isn’t a crime hellscape like some lead everyone to believe.
