What Are the Best Private High Schools for "Alpha Male" Types?

WHy, PP? Why accuse the mother of being a bad parent? These posts are bizarre.

10:46, no need to feel bad for my son. I'm not the OP, and I've never thought of my kids in these terms (alpha, not alpha, etc.). Our DD is relaxed, gregarious, and very playful. Our DS is comfortable in his own skin, very thoughtful, and likes to do his own thing. They have their ups and downs, but are generally happy kids. I was only trying to point out that it is ok to acknowledge traits that have positive and negative sides, and to try to find an environment that can help you to bring out the best in yourself.

I think this thread somehow assumes that alpha males thrive when surrounded by other alpha males. Is there anyone else out there who thinks this might not be such a good idea?

Right -- they're much happier when there are women and lesser men around over whom they can exercise dominance.

Better to keep them all in one cage, then, for 4 or more years, and then release them into the wild? Hmmm. See, e.g., Landon.

Wonder if GH will retain his alpha maleness in prison.

Jails are filled with alphas. Actually, former alphas. Too many alphas in a small, confined, space mean some alphas become betas, or perhaps better put, alphettes. GH, without his stick and family connections will find himself in the alphette category is my bet. Or perhaps his, mmm, stick, may still attract a crowd.

Back to OP - the jail analogy is not a bad one. Do you really want to cultivate the alphaness in your son? I suppose if you really want to challenge your alpha and see how much alpha he really has, put him in an environment surrounded by other alphas. But at least half the crowd will end up on the bottom bunk.
