Bullis Emails are Out

The LS seemed underdeveloped compared to Norwood, but I certainly didn’t see anything that would justify the very negative impression some seem to have.

The US is great. There will be a new LS building added in the near future but I don’t recall the exact timing.

I think there were (likely deserved from what I can tell) reputation issues in the past that people like to bring up because they still feel upset about whatever went on. Additionally there seems to be a person who jumps on every chance he/she gets to bad mouth the school. In the latter case, it seems that the poster seems to be bitter about a personal experience - perhaps a disgruntled employee.

The bold above is the key. There may have been problems in the past. Wish the haters could recognize this and just Let. It. Go.

The old HOS, who hired is mistress is long gone, and the new HOS is fantastic. Communication and transparency has been great, more teachers and counselors have been hired, classes are excellent (including many APs every year - my child has gotten all 5s, so they must be doing something right - will be starting at a top college as a sophomore with all the credits), and they has made many life-long friends (started in US), who are a mix of cultures and SES.

Makes them look competitive. We didn’t request aid but I know this because of others who have applied and needed aid. My kid is a good student but I know many others with higher stats who have been rejected. They all have one thing in common and that’s that they needed some help. . We left the school for various reasons and kid is now at another private. I suggest you spend a whole day on campus to get a good feel. Lots of bullies and fist fighting at lunch, etc.

No true. Not everyone gets in who doesn’t need aid. DC applied for 9th and was WL and we did not apply for aid.

Just snobbery.

Reminds me of what people used to say about Norwood…safety school, everyone gets in, etc. Then they both got new administrators, improved a lot, and are now far more respected.

At least a dozen Norwood kids got in…so if you want to go to Bullis for HS, but prefer K-8 before, that seems to be the way to go.
