I apologize for this post. I posted without reading and am honestly a little jealous of the people who can send their kids to such an nice expensive school. So please ignore my comment and I hope your kids end up somewhere where they are happy next year.

Bullis is a great school. Congrats to those who got in. And those who didn't will find a great fit somewhere else.

Bullis accepts everyone if you don’t need financial aid. If you need financial aid and are not a athletic recruit you will be rejected. They do this to boost their rejection rate. Makes them look competitive. We didn’t request aid but I know this because of others who have applied and needed aid. My kid is a good student but I know many others with higher stats who have been rejected. They all have one thing in common and that’s that they needed some help. . We left the school for various reasons and kid is now at another private. I suggest you spend a whole day on campus to get a good feel. Lots of bullies and fist fighting at lunch, etc.

Glad you found a place that works for your child. We actually have found a warm and nurturing environment at Bullis for our children. Many others say the same thing. Parents, teachers and staff have been amazing. Also, we know many parents who do not have athletic students who receive support and many athletes that don't need support.

Happy current Bullis family that receives FA. This just isn't true. I truly don't understand the Bullis hatred.

I do love the classy nature of Bullis parents. Bullis doesn't have to promote. It just exists and shows up.

I don’t mean the standard 5k they give to everyone. I am talking about families who need significant aid. They just don’t have it . Look at their balance sheet and all of that debt. It will take decades to get out of that hole. Glad others love it. There is a place for everyone and that is what is great about the DMV.

+1. Sorry it didn’t work out for PP. Sounds like experience from years ago. DC has never seen anything like described above and thoroughly enjoys the school. The HoS provides leadership that promotes a very positive culture.

Because it is a not so great school that made itself look pretty, has a corrupt board of directors, a recent corrupt head, a new head that tries to play the game but is not well-liked by the teachers, charges waaay too much for what it offers, takes athletes in 11th and 12th grade, has bad sportsmanship, I could go on and on.

Amen! My thoughts exactly! I guess people will have to see for themselves.

The attrition rate is next to nothing this year, so apparently people who actually have children there feel otherwise.

You must have this in an easy to access cut and paste, since it seems you love to repeat any time someone says they like the school. I hope your DC is thriving in his/her new environment.

May have be asked earlier in the thread in some form, but how big is the 9th grade class? How many new kids are generally taken?

They expand to about 120-125 so they add about 50 or 60

I’m confused as to why there’s such bias against Bullis on this forum. DC got in last year for K. We picked Norwood, but thought Bullis looked great, especially for HS. The LS seemed underdeveloped compared to Norwood, but I certainly didn’t see anything that would justify the very negative impression some seem to have.
