If my child is zoned for Gunston and I’m not excited about it

Extra kids? Which ones? Every parent has the ability to request a transfer. Why don’t you ask the parents why they aren’t requesting this.

Yes, of course and another complicating factor is our lack of transportation resources in Arlington if the school board decided to proactively select certain neighborhoods to go to one of the schools. So the PP shouldn’t act like it’s some conspiracy.

This is OP. My daughter is at a South Arlington elementary, which we love. And I’ve heard wonderful things about the Special Ed and arts and tech at Kenmore, which is in South Arlington, and general happiness with Jefferson, which is also in South Arlington. I have heard negative things about the Special Ed at Williamsburg, and of course everyone has heard about the bullying at Swanson, and both of those are in North Arlington. This isn’t about north versus south. It’s about Gunston being too darn overcrowded.
