Yeah, that’s a weird comment because tons of women were having kids in their 30s in the 50s and 60s. My mom had 4 kids in her thirties in that time frame. She has her first at 24 and I don’t think anyone thought she was particularly old then. |
She lived in northeastern MD when she had me, between Baltimore and Philly. |
Look, you can think I’m lying all you want - this is what my mother told me because she found it amusing that she was called geriatric at 27 |
So if you meet a woman today who is 49 who has a five year old who will start kindergarten in September 2023, you would think of that 49 year old woman as a young mother? |
You are aware that urban teenagers have kids too, right? |
| 24 and under |
| Everyone thought I was way too young at 27 and even encouraged me to abort! We got married, had that baby plus 2 more. I would say under 25 is young/too young. |
| 25 |
And it's viewed as completely normal for many urban teens to have babies. |
At 27? Were you unemployed and living in a car or something? Geesh. |
I had my son at 25 with a degree from an Ivy League school and a masters degree on my way to a PhD. I get that people think 25 is young, but it's not that young. |
No but I have never met anyone like this. Older women with preschool children generally also have older children. |
Nope I was in professional school. |
In the 90s they did. Hardly any significant number do anymore. |
“Urban” teens JFC just tell us what you really mean. |
