Murders of 17 year old boys is not "whining."

It is different crime - organized criminal gangs infiltrating our schools. A beheaded body was dumped at The Pit 4 years ago. A raid by the federal government a few months ago led to 6 MS-13 "king pin" arrests in the City. The City leadership refuses to acknowledge this reality, that is why it is deteriorating. In the years you harken back to, people were not sweeping it under the rug.

MS-13 is the problem.

Closing the wide-open southern border is part of the difficult solution to the youth Mara gang problem.

Council member Canek says there are no gangs in Alexandria and Alexandria schools. Rest of the council, mayor and school board agree by virtue of their silence.

Yes, this is a horrible time and I’m very sorry for the families and the victims, but Alexandria is not deteriorating. Anyone who is from here is not surprised by this news. The city government is no worse or better than it has been for the past 40 years. Haven’t you heard “Yale or Jail” about ACHS grads? People have been saying that since I was I high school in the ‘90s.

How many students were murdered and raped in a single year when you were at the then TC Williams? How many gang raids and murders?

I wasn't TC, but I was at Falls Church 30 years ago and we had multiple murders during my time there. We were also a Yale of Jail school. We had open gang war, guns and knives brought in. Three boys were murdered while I was there and one girl (he walked into her place of work at the strip mall one block away and shot her in the chest). This is not new, it is still tragic. We also had several of my classmates murdered within the first three years of graduation - also gangs and drugs. I would get the call while I was away at college.

My parents were unaware. There was no social media or internet. Schools did not publicize it or send out letters. But it happened, a lot.
