Minimum test score for Sidwell Pre-K?

Most students admitted to any school, Sidwell included, do not score in the high 90s on any test. In the case of any specific applicant, it is possible that a rejection had less to do with the number of brilliant four-year-olds in the applicant pool and more to do with the fact that the parents seemed overly focused on the test scores. Not saying it was the deal-breaker, merely that it could be.

I think what the PP probably meant was that many priority applicants who get in (i.e. siblings, alumni, quakers, etc.) are not scoring in the high 90s. However, for those with no special preference to get them in, I would imagine that in some instances, a high score in the upper 90s could be very helpful - assuming, of course, excellent recommendations, a good playdate, and a good parent interview.

Thanks for the rest of your post, but what value did the commentary on the Chanel suit add?

That she can afford it and she was trying to be herself. IMHO -- I think this Pollyanna character is a completely made up person with bits of fact and fiction.

So my Daisy Fuentes separates from Kohl's won't fit the bill?

Gosh, thanks for the valuable info!

Who knew conspicuous consumption and materialism was so appealing to Quakers?

I think she is wry. I like her. Good for you, for being your self, whomever that is! No different than saying you wore your birks and a tie dye. This board is so sensitive to comments that might indicate wealth! I like that you wore what you might wear to work or another interview and didn't try to fit a mold (i.e. for GT Day or Sidwell, one might think you should wear a fleece and eco shoes, etc. )

Oh come on - wry? How about obnoxious?
What's wrong with just saying a "nice suit and heels" and leave it at that? Who cares if it was St. John, Chanel, Ungaro or whatever. Did you make sure to let the admissions people know you were wearing chanel? If they care, then eeww.

In defense of Pollyanna, I think her explanation makes sense. There was a thread a while back where posters were asking about what to wear and whether a Chanel suit would convey the wrong image. In that context her statement is not as obnoxious as it may seem.

Her remark about the chanel suit just seemed disjointed relative to the other points she made.

Good lord ladies - some of you on this board are incredibly catty. If this wasn't an anonymous forum, I bet you 99% of cattiness would disappear.

Pollyanne I thought your DC went to Beauvoir did you do a parent interview???? If so how did you get a parent interview I didn't think that was part of their process.
