| I’d say WIS’s college lists look better than Prep or Gonzaga once you realize how few legacies and athletes there are. The IB is its own kind of rigor, and many kids do it in two languages. But I agree that it’s not top of mind when you think of “elite” area schools. |
| WIS has practically zero legacy or hooks. |
+1 |
| The problem with WIS is that it’s so obsessed with its dual language IB it can’t see TJ or BIM are just as hard. Wouldn’t send ds or dd to any of these schools though. |
| I think that Niche rated BIM #1 recently. |
| Honestly, if you want college outcomes I would not overlook Wilson, BCC, or Walls. |
That's indeed one of its many strengths. |
How do you know where their parents went to college? |
I am a former parent. Academic rigor is second to none. Amazing how Basis police control remains active and any positive observation is always treated as illegitimate. |
DP: Perhaps 40% if not more of parents I meet are foreigners and studied abroad before coming to work in the US, plus the school doesn't cater to the dc politico crowd. |
Answer: comparing notes with friends of mine and friends of my kids. |
Are you kidding? Tons of diversity hooks. |
Ding, ding, ding. Everyone of those Hispanic and Spanish kids gets in with a GIANT hook. And there are a lot of them at WIS. |
| Look at the articles on race in Wapo and Medium. Look at the statistics on school websites. WIS is less diverse than Maret. |
| *racially diverse that is. |
