She did say she was bad with dates and math.

I mean, during the custody talk she said that they ended up with a 60/50 custody agreement lol. Still not sure if she meant 50/50 or 60/40.

Basically, the key points:
-Kane/Peter was heavily over-medicated by his therapist, including Ambien (no one believed her about Peter's/Kane's addiction issues)
-Natasha said his addiction led to his crazy mood swings & his lack of control (like when he went off on someone in public during a Pride event)
-Natasha was addicted to opiates from a back injury
-She was ordered into rehab for 30 days by a judge
-They were in couples therapy for a few years prior to separation & before the NBC4 special
-Kane/Peter was a big workaholic & never made time for family (one reason they went to therapy)
-Kane/Peter never had full custody as he said
-Natasha never emptied the bank account but she & the girls did leave him
-Girls weren't allowed any contact with Natasha when they were with Kane/Peter
-Sam called Natasha after finding Peter having a seizure & both girls were present when it happened & she rushed over to the house
-Peter's nanny arrived & tried to kick Natasha out but she refused & went through the house to find what he'd been taking (pills, alcohol, etc.) & also the paramedics wanted to know what he was taking
-While searching she found ~23 bottles of Grand Marnier and most were hidden around the house like in dirty laundry
-She also found prescriptions for valium, adderall, xanax, ambien, and ketamine all prescribed by the same psychiatrist
-Basically, his body shut down from abuse... he had cirrhosis of the liver, his kidneys were failing, he was yellowish, he got a bad respiratory infection from aspirating during the initial seizure
-That evening after going to the ER he was in ICU and spoke with the girls. That was the last time he was awake and coherent and able to speak with them (or anyone)
-Was in the hospital in a coma for weeks before death
-Natasha said her biggest regret was that she never went to Peter one-on-one, no lawyers, no ulterior motives of trying to get custody, and spoke with him about his addictions
-She was sad he never got a second chance like she did. She said she got her second chance and there was a point after he'd been in the hospital for a few weeks that it dawned on her that he may not get another chance
-She was very angry about the whole situation for a long time but is now at a point where she's happy that he finally found peace
-She doesn't focus on things he did in the past now, just the good parts/times with him
-Girls are good overall but still grieving (Sophie mainly remembers the good stuff with her dad & Sam has harder time and still needs to really process it, according to Natasha b/c she's very mature for her age & emotions don't come naturally to her)
-Says Sam still remembers the bad of her dad and still has moments of remembering thinking what's he going to be like when he gets home, what's his mood going to be like, etc.
-Natasha said Peter is a big reason why her 2nd marriage fell apart b/c everything was always all about Peter and the situation of dealing with him
-Is in no rush to find a new partner but does want to get married again

I really enjoyed this interview. Natasha did a great job of telling her truth. Sarah is not a great interviewer, even as a casual conversation it was hard to follow her. She doesn’t finish her thoughts, and jumps all over the place.

It was obvious he was an alcoholic.

The seizure, liver and kidney failure mean he was an alcoholic for quite some time. It doesn’t happen overnight. It doesn’t happen in a year.

The meds from the psychiatrist were likely prescribed in an effort to help him give up booze and control his anxiety and issues with pills. Sadly, most alcoholics just can’t kick the booze.

He must have been drinking daily and heavily for many years. The seizure meant he actually went cold turkey or too long without a drink.

Sad.

This whole story is so sad. Natasha has really been through it and I thought she did a good job telling what was going on behind the scenes. She has a great sense of personal accountability and it was so brave of her to share this. I feel the worst for their kids - they've lived through a lot. I hope they can go on to have peaceful lives.

I’m conflicted - I agree they did a good job of not just trashing him but they still feel like grifters also lining their pockets from his tragedy. They are of course entitled to share their stories - but this wasn’t like Natasha’s story of her life with Kane’s details within that narrative - it was just Kane with only a small amount of details about Natasha

Thank you for summing it up. Man, telling you, meds and alcohol will take control of your life. Not to mention, he never really looked healthy or fit to counteract any of what he was doing. Seems like a recipe for failure. I feel for his daughters and being so young having to go through that. I can’t imagine.

I’ll never forget driving into work one morning and Kane going off on Natasha publicly. The entire fanbase was shocked.

Same. It was a lot more Kane bashing than I anticipated. Also didn't love how she glossed over her own addiction and basically said it wasn't her fault due to the back injury, but Kane's addiction was all his own fault.

Kane was her entire adult life. She met him at 19.

I don't think she said it was his fault. In fact she said on more than one occasion she faulted his psychiatrist and wished she could out him for over prescribing and prescribing him things he shouldn't have (such as ketamine which can be deadly mixed with alcohol).

Sorry. But it’s startling how rough she looks. I always thought she was out of Kane’s league look wise.
But now she just looks rough 🫣

I must have missed this somehow. What did she go to HR about?

How do you get a ketamine prescription. I thought it had to be administered by a doctor.

She has a super interesting story of her own - what’s it like struggling with addiction as a mother when you’re also struggling with a spouse who is an addict? How does the trauma of it all impact a future marriage? How does she rebuild trust with her kids and confidence in her own ability to manage when she’d previously leaned on men and pills? Something like that is her story that would actually help other women that details about Kane would be woven into. This was mainly just kanes story as told by her presented as wanting to do it to help other women. If she wants to profit off the experience, cool people do that all the time, but let’s not pretend that this is her story of survival to help others

This is exactly what she was saying. It's only supposed to be administered in an inpatient setting. Peter's psychologist prescribed it for at home use. Along with a lot of other meds.
