Masking during labor and delivery?

I actually think the response went over your head. There’s no need to expose my newborn to this virus if it can be helped. Yes it’s been around and every month medical journals release more and more about the lasting impacts of having Covid.

My hospital in nyc required it, but I just didn’t do it and nobody said anything.

DP. This makes zero sense. Everyone in 2020 and 2021 were being tested for Covid before l&d. You’re saying you wore a mask after testing negative so your baby wouldn’t catch Covid? What the what.

Delivered in April 2021 at Sibley, mail required whenever nurses and doctors were in the room. It sounds crazy to say this, but when I started pushing I forgot that I had the mask on. It wasn’t until after DC was born that I realized it was still ok. They had no problem with me taking it off for nursing right after birth. I can’t imagine they’re strict about it these days.

Ugh, typos. Mask required. Didn’t realize it was still on.
